I create soft toys for kids of all ages!
I've been creating soft toys for my own children as well as my friends and family for the past 13 years. I started this shop to offer those same items to Etsy shoppers as well.
I create my animals in a very laid back fun style. I do not always follow the standard rules for increasing and decreasing. Sometimes I even skip rows *gasp* for the special look I want. While this may not be the "correct" way to crochet, it works for me. My patterns are written clearly for easy understanding. You need to understand basic crochet shorthand to follow the rows. All my patterns start out with a six stitch magic ring. The only stitches you need to know is single crochet, how to increase, decrease, and slip stitch. If your row gets off by a stitch and the does not work out right, it's OK! Crochet is very forgiving and you can easily add another stitch or decrease a stitch and keep going. It's supposed to be fun, not stressful. Being off by a stitch or two will not change the look of your pattern. I know the child who cuddles your toy will never notice! The important thing is to enjoy creating something and have fun.
I create all my stuffed toys by hand. Since crocheting is time consuming I like to allow myself three weeks to complete orders. I stitch all my toys tightly and triple knot all yarn ends together before finishing to prevent any piece from coming loose. Items with snap on safety eyes are only recommended for children over three. I can substitute stitched eyes for any toy if you would prefer. I stuff all my toys with hypoallergenic polyester stuffing.
Pricing is based on the size of the animal and the amount of time it takes me to create it. Crochet is a very time consuming art form. Each doll or stuffed animal takes between 6 and 10 hours to complete depending on the details added. I put my own love, sweat, and tears into each doll I make and I try my best to fulfill your order in a timely manner. Because of my own personal work schedule I often only have 1 or 2 hours of "crochet time" each day. Please allow up to 3 weeks for me to create your doll or stuffed animal.
WASHING INSTRUCTIONS- Animals can be machine washed in a pillow case or garment bag, Dry flat. ( I like to dry my animals by laying them flat on top of the dryer while it is going. The heat from the dryer will speed up the air drying process. )
Dolls with long loose hair must be handwashed. The more bulky yarns tend to fray over time.
