Pdf sewing patterns made to upcycle your old jeans

Montreal, Canada

Announcement    Hi all denim lovers;) My name is Ariane and I am a denim upcycler originally from Montreal, Quebec, but just moved to Saint-Alphonse-Rodriguez a small municipality in the beautiful region of Lanaudière, Quebec in Canada.

All product of this shop is crafted by me from my home/studio. I am a true believer that we can have a major environmental impact, but also social impact only with the clothes we choose to wear or make;)

SOURCING AND VINTAGE GEAR
I source all jeans I upcycle from customers, friends, local thrift shops and clothes sorting center. I try to use jeans that don't have resale value anymore. Along the way I sometimes(often) find vintage treasure and decided to start resaling them, you can find them in the Vintage section of the shop.

UPCYCLED PRODUCTS
All jeans I upcycle are washed and clean before being sorted and deconstruct. I like to think of them like each pair have it's on destiny. I curated them carefully for there next chapter. Mittens. bags, hair accessories and much fashionnable goods you will find in the upcycled product section of the shop. You will also find in that section some inspired thrift flip, these are denim garments that just need a small flip, a bit of magic to put them back into circulation.

WELL SORTED SCRAPS
Big part of being an upcycler is managing scraps. I constantly improve the way I sort my scraps. Stretch, non stretch, light, medium, dark blues, pockets, waistband, hems, side seams.....Well sorted scraps for me, means more ideas, but also efficiency. As I got organize I realize, this take time and there is much value in those well sorted scraps;) So I decided to make them available in my shop for other denim upcycler out there;) You can find them in the well sorted scraps sections.

DOWNLOADABLE PATTERNS
Maybe you are the type of person who simply enjoy the process of making. I got you! I decided it would be great to simply explain how to upcycle jeans and make a Kinsu product. As everybody have old jeans available for upcycling. Patterns of my products are available for all the creative soul that don't accept statu quo. You can find all the patterns in the downloadable pattern section of the shop. All pattern has a tutorial video that you can watch on my blog at kinsu.ca or youtube.

I invite you on this journey of slow fashion. Have a creative approach to your wardrobe. Refuse fast fashion, rewear, restyle, repair and rethink your clothes. I truly hope my shop inspire you a little bit to take on that journey.

Feel free to send my way any questions or request and I will do my best to make it happen;)

Upcycling is the high-end version of recycling. It's part of an artistic approach where I reinterpret the preloved material, take it out of it's original context and transform it into a new product that pays tribute to the material. Each pieces are exclusive and handcrafted. Please keep in mind that unless it's written in the product description, the material and shade may have unique features that don't shows on the picture. If you have any question regarding the product feel free to send them my way.
