Kim's work is always outstanding

I have acquired half a dozen of Ms. Dow’s works and hope to acquire even more (half of which are originals). I now have enough to constitute a “collection.” At which point, I always love to commission a self-portrait of the artist as a kind of personal signature for the whole collection. I was lucky enough to discover this self-portrait ready made. It a wonderfully striking image with compelling features that give it a vibrance you don’t alway see in self-portraits. My favorite element is the intricately tangle trusses of the artist lovely blond hair. As with many of this artist’s paintings, you have to resist the urge to reach out to touch to see if it just might be real. I can only imagine the countless, infinitely delicate, strokes required to conjure and coax out such beauty. Ms. Dow is a master of her unique style

This piece is a vertebral cornucopia of color. It struck me as a honeybee’s buffet from the first moment that I saw it - so many wonderfully rendered exquisite blossoms that my eye flits about trying to figure out where first to land. The artist’s skillful depiction gives each flower a 3d appearance so convincing that you have an urge to lean to smell them. This has become the center piece of the room in which it hangs, and each visitor immediately gravitates to it – particularly after I tell them that it’s not a photo. Everyone, me included, can’t resist a close-up examination of the paintings delicate detail which draws your gaze across the canvas as if tracing a meandering path through a miraculous maze that only Mother Nature’s hand could have crafted. Ms. Dow’s artistically gifted hand is a close second. Bravo!.

Kim is a master artist with a realist style she has made all her own. It’s realism mixed with idealism that give her pieces an ethereal yet grounded visage that is not only engaging but a bit hypnotic. I am so taken by her artistry that this is actually my 6th Peirce from this artist - half of which are originals. This one is my second on the theme of creek side waif exploring her aquatic environs. There is a kind of wonder and innocence that is simply enchanting. The realism draws you into the image as if you were actually there, but the idyllic aspects make it feel like a day dream. I hung my to “water waif” pieces together and visit them as a daily dose of emotional therapy since they never fail to impart a bit of peace and tranquility to my day, no matter how chaotic it might be. I love the “Dow Wing” of my collection.
