The last hike in postage has caused international charges to rise dramatically. The new type of parcel post is also quite high. This was not my decision:). Overseas mail may take as long as a month or more to reach you. I ship as quickly as possible.

We live out in the country, and are frequently without power. If there is a delay in replying to you or in shipping, it's because I'm without electricity & thus without my computer.

Layaway is available in certain circumstances. Please contact me for information.

Many years ago, I began collecting depression glass. In my hunts, I came across other items which I knew could be sold for a profit, thus a dealer was born. It soon became an addiction and I set up at flea markets, shows, and rented booths in antique malls. I joined the world of ecommerce in 1998. My love of sewing patterns stems from my mother, who was the best seamstress I've ever known. I used to sit and look through her boxes of patterns and she would tell me the year she made a certain dress.

The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
  • Items on sale
Please contact me if there is a problem with your order. Upon receipt of the returned item, your account will be credited with the amount of the purchase. Shipping is not refundable.

I accept PayPal, money orders, and credit cards via direct checkout. The payment option OTHER is for customers who have contacted me about a layaway plan.

Depending upon the weight of patterns, international buyers who purchase more than one pattern may be owed a refund of excess shipping. I will send this to your credit card or PayPal account as soon as I get the total cost of shipping. International first class shipping rates for US sellers are rather high - I don't have any control over the United States Postal Service.

For certain circumstances, a layaway system is available.
Please contact me before checkout to arrange this form of payment. Each layaway transaction is different to accommodate different situations.

Shipping
I try to ship the next day after receiving an order but allow myself up to three days - this is because we lose power so frequently here in the middle-of-nowhere, TN:) Without power, I am without a computer.

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY TAXES WHICH MAY BE LEVIED BY THEIR COUNTRY. I WILL NOT FALSIFY A CLAIMS FORM and will cancel an order if asked to do so. I will not send patterns internationally marked as a letter so please do not ask.
Additional policies and FAQs
We live in the country and are often without power, thus I am without a computer and a printer. If you do receive a shipping notice within 3 days after a transaction, please be patient - I will contact you as soon as power is restored.
In addition, TN is prone to some very nasty ice storms. As mentioned, we live in the country, where the roads are long, winding, and frequently never receive sunlight. There is no such thing as salt trucks out here. My mailbox is about a quarter mile down a steep hill and after an ice storm, I can't navigate the hill on foot or by truck. In serious cases, as in the winter of 2017-2018, there was no mail delivered or picked up for a few days. If the computer is working, I will let you know if there is a weather-related delay in shipping.

Do you pay VAT taxes?

Do you recycle packing materials?

Yes, in certain instances. I recycle packaged air and peanuts when needed. If an item doesn't fit into a USPS mailing box, I'll recycle a box as well.

Why is the back of a pattern sometimes not shown?

Several years ago, I discovered an unscrupulous person was using the layout on the backs of my patterns to create PDFs. Since that time, I have been "gun shy" about scanning the backs. If you want to see the back, please ask and I will be glad to scan it for you.
