Inspiration for my work comes from a variety of sources. For my Hudson River State Hospital Kirkbride papercut I modeled it off of an old postcard.

About

I didn't mean to fall in love

It began in 2014 when I came across a picture of some old painted stenciling revealing itself under layers of peeling paint on Instagram. Once I got confirmation that the stencil was located in a nearby (abandoned) building I was hooked and have been studying up on the building (a Kirkbride plan, the Hudson River State Hospital in Poughkeepsie New York) ever since.

I am drawn to the architecture, the Victorian era and all of the history each Kirkbride mental health institution has to offer. After discovering so many cool things it became too difficult to just keep the info hidden which is why I am trying out this shop - to be able to share my finds with you. Shoot me a message - I'd love to hear from you and your ideas!
