These arrived the other day and they look fabulous! I just wished I had splurged and ordered the 20x20s! Thanks for the great pieces!

The studio photographs are an ongoing series using Richard Avedon’s, “Series of Nos,” as my guideline. The produce is placed on a stark, white or black background in the studio and simply lit, capturing the raw unwashed, unadorned appearance, as it was found in the marketplace. These images show the textures, imperfections and aging of regionally grown produce as it appears, without the distractions of background, leaving the produce to be studied as a unique piece of artwork, created by nature and nurtured by man.

If it's not photographed in the studio, then I'm at the local market or beyond, in Central America or Europe (I'll be in Tuscany during May/June of 2011). I always shoot produce where is, as is, never touching or arranging anything myself.

My images of food from the markets reveal the unseen human presence of chefs, husbands and wives, lovers, children, vendors, visitors and neighbors who love the erotic and sensual touch of food. They touch for freshness and to smell and to taste. They touch for the sake of feeling something as essential as the air we breathe. They constantly change the landscape of my photographs, even while I’m shooting.

Add to that the variable of changing light: direct sunlight, overcast light, filtered light through tents and shades, shadowed light and I have a series of accidental tableaux.

Then there's my Something Different section where you'll find interesting departures from my fruits and veggies.

Never hesitate to ask me questions, even if it's only about my process.

All orders are custom printed. But I will ship US Priority Mail which is pretty quick, so figure it will take about 5-7 business days for delivery in the US.
Refunds and Exchanges
I will refund 100 percent of the purchase price if you are dissatisfied with your print for any reason. However, you must return the print, undamaged and using the original protective packaging at your expense.
Additional policies and FAQs
The photographs are for display only and are copyrighted. Please do not publish them on the cover of a national magazine like Time or Vogue or Better Homes and Gardens (but if you do, send me a copy!). However, you may put them on your website if you like them so much, just give me a link back to my website or blog if you do. That will make me happy. Thanks.

I also sell custom size prints - 16 x 16, 20 x 20 and 24 x 24 in addition to offering custom frames. Use Alchemy to make those purchases.

Enjoy!
