Announcement   Great mid-century and retro items are the perfect addition to a 21st century home! I love to collect, use and sell these vintage treasures -- there are so many things with an interesting past, just waiting to be given new life. Vintage is not only fun and beautiful, but green, too!

I shop estate sales, yard sales and flea markets looking for those treasures and hope to be a 'matchmaker' to find them new homes.

I'm getting ready to list this art deco cream & sugar set, so I'm researching the difference between maker's marks and hallmarks.

About

Born collector and lover of all things old and interesting

I think I began collecting as soon as I could walk...
It started with pretty rocks (what kid doesn't like those?) and toads and salamanders, but quickly graduated to penny machine prizes (remember rat-finks?), trolls and comic books.

I've always loved old things, old stories, family history (my husband calls it 'ancestor worship') and the link that vintage and antique things have to the past. I bought my first old book when I was a freshman in high school -- a 1905 'Complete Works of Shakespeare' gift edition with tissue-thin pages -- at Acres of Books in Cincinnati, Ohio. It cost $1.25 and was decorated with gold filigree; just that one book and I was hooked! Soon I had two bookcases full of 1800s and early 1900s gift editions and children's illustrators -- my favorite is Arthur Rackham (though he's hard to find these days).

As an adult I've been an insurance underwriter, a stay-at-home mom, a church lady (church secretary) and a webmaster. Once the kids were grown and monetary demands less, it was only a matter of time until I turned my passion into a business.

I love to go to flea markets, estate sales, thrift shops and the occasional curb-side. I'm not above dumpster-diving and should have a bumper sticker that reads 'I Brake for Other People's Trash'! Often the cast-off and forgotten hides a nugget of wonderful-ness that just needs to be found.

My items have been purchased by artists, designers, movie and tv studios and museums. My favorite part of the process, though, is seeing someone else's delight at finding the perfect item -- then I feel just like the matchmaker who gets an invitation to the wedding.

This is just more fun than anyone should be allowed to have!

My buyers' satisfaction is very important to me and I value each one, as there are so many shopping choices available. Good communication, careful packing and fast shipping all contribute to a happy buyer. I'm honored to have you as a customer!

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
  • Other Method
Payment
I accept Paypal, Etsy gift cards and Etsy Direct Checkout.
Shipping
I ship one to three business days after payment (Monday-Friday) by USPS (and by FedEx for larger items)

HOLDING ITEMS:
Do you see something you love, but don't have the $$ for a day or two? I'll be happy to reserve anything in the shop for you for up to 7 days. Just send me a convo and let me know.

USA SHIPPING:
Shipping is calculated, based on the size and weight of the package and your zip code. Any significant overage (usually in the case of combined shipping) will be refunded back to you. If your actual shipping comes to more than the estimate, you only pay the original amount.
In some cases, shipping to Alaska or Hawaii is significantly more expensive than to the continental US and requires a separate cost (not always reflected in the estimated shipping cost). If that's the case, I'll convo you with the information.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING:
I'm happy to ship internationally, too, though sometimes the cost is higher than the price of the item (especially in the case of heavy items)! If your country isn't listed in an item's shipping information, please convo me and I'll be happy to add it. There are several countries to which shipments can't be insured. If that's the case, shipping there might not be possible.

PACKAGING:
I like to be green, but also value quality. I reuse boxes for shipping (that's the green part) but try to use all new packing materials inside (that's the quality). Many states are banning styrofoam peanuts, so I avoid using them whenever possible, but always opt for the cushioning that will best help your item arrive undamaged.

FREE GIFT WRAP SERVICE:
Who doesn't love to get a wrapped present in the mail? I'll be happy to gift-wrap your item and include a personal note if you're having it sent directly to someone as a gift. Just let me know when you check out.

JUST CONVO ME:
If you have any questions about the shipping cost or materials for an item you're considering, just convo me and I'll be happy to answer your questions.
Refunds and Exchanges
Returns are accepted, as long as you contact me within 3 days of delivery and ship items back with 7 days of delivery. Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs and original shipping isn't refundable. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.
Additional policies and FAQs
If you'd like to see if I have an item you're seeking or want me to watch for it, please get in touch with me. I love the thrill of the hunt and often can find a specific item for you!
