We are a cooperative of Tz'utjuli Mayan women artisans who create textiles over a traditional backstrap loom and beadwork by hand. The local market for artwork is limited in our indigenous town. Etsy offers us the opportunity to reach beyond the shores of Lake Atitlan to the global marketplace. Please enjoy viewing our work and consider making a purchase, which will support both our families and a community health project (ahuyu.org/partners.html) that we direct.

Accepted payment methods

Returns and exchanges
If you are not perfectly happy with your purchase, we will be more than happy to offer a full refund, including the cost of the original shipping. Return shipping is buyer's expense. For a refund, you must return the item within 7 days of receipt.

If there is any way we may be able to remedy the situation, please communicate this and we will be glad to accommodate when possible.

Custom orders are non-refundable.

Additional policies and FAQs
All works appearing in our shop have been created by Kixjo Qusmajaa, our women's cooperative based in Santiago Atitlan, Guatemala. We work closely with Ahuyu.org -- a Seattle-based non-profit that helps with the logistics of running our shop.

We are also partners with Ahuyu on a clean cookstove program that benefits our families and our neighbors' families. A clean and efficient cookstove increases the time available for women like us to work on our art and protects our children from the ill effects of smoke exposure. We are proud to donate a portion of the proceeds from our Etsy shop to the clean cookstove program.

We are open to taking custom orders but please understand in advance that the cost and shipping times are greater due to the distance our work must travel.

Please note that a loss of quality and color naturally occur on a computer screen. Variations between what you see on the screen and the products is unavoidable. We do our absolute best to match the screen color and contrast to the actual products.
