Announcement   My "short vacation" turned into a nearly year-long hiatus. In the last year, I have re-branded from K. Leigh's Kreations to Tree House Sprouts. I sold the embroidery part of my business to focus on making precious, quality children's clothing.

I continue to create collections of coordinating styles for every child in your immediate and extended families. My styles are perfect for planning family photographs, for special occasions, or simply for daily wear.

About

Sewing happiness.

I'd like to say that this all started just after my daughter's first birthday, but my love for creating goes back WAY further than that. I may not have honed my sewing skills until later in life, but I've been "sewing" since I was a kiddo. Only then, I used my Maw Maw's scraps and my hands to "sew" envelope purses and Barbie "clothes". I love watching my daughter make the same things with my scraps now.

I didn't get behind a machine until my 20's. I started out with curtains and throw pillow covers--things I wanted for my new home. My new home that Hurricane Katrina swept away shortly after I made those curtains and pillow covers. Life was too hectic and spread out for sewing in the first years following Hurricane Katrina, so I focused on other hobbies. When we finally rebuilt our home, I bought another sewing machine. The first thing I made was a new, white mini-skirt. I found my favorite, white skirt hanging in a tree in the months after the hurricane, and I could never find a suitable replacement. So, I bought a pattern and made one.

Still, I did not start sewing ALOT until I discovered all of the cute patterns for my baby girl! And things got out of hand quickly!

I love designing collections because, well, I love for my own kids (and their cousins) to coordinate. I sell online; I present trunk shows and pop up shops; I have dabbled in wholesale. I have just about tried it all. I've made some mistakes. I have learned a lot. I have thought about quitting at times, but Tree House Sprouts is a part of me. My sewing room is my happy place, and nothing puts a smile on my face faster than seeing my daughter and your daughters twirl endlessly in dresses I've made.
