Oh, this ornament is absolutely beautiful! I love this year's designs so much! It's hanging up in my window right now, just waiting for Christmas, but also serving as a daily reminder to look for joy, and be joyful... I wholeheartedly recommend this well-made, wood-burned pendent.

Kluane National Workshop: personal crafting to Etsy listings

When I was born in the Yukon, my parents assigned me a northern middle name to acknowledge my birthplace: Kluane (klü-ˈȯ-nē). It is both a National Park (and lake) up in the Yukon, as well as a Tlingit word meaning "many fish". While I only spent a handful of years in the Yukon, much of the art I create is influenced by the landscape of the area and lifestyle of my family when we lived there. A few years back it felt fitting to start blogging under the name "Kluane National", and now extends to the name of my creative work as I have started using the name "Kluane National Workshop" for my handmade goods.

Currently I am a mostly stay-at-home mom to one wonderful kid, and in part-time school to finish my degree in Environmental Studies and Sociology. My focus on the environment for the past five years has influenced my crafts and art in unexpected ways. I started wood burning ornaments a few years back because as a newly married couple we didn't have very many ornaments for our first Christmas tree! I made them as gifts, and I was trying to find a way that others could do a similar project without the wood-burning equipment! And now I have DIY Christmas Ornament Kits!

I do many other types of projects, I have dabbled in necklace making, key hooks, home renovations, and painting... and so many more that I have tried and enjoyed! I love to focus on using pre-loved materials mixed with new materials.

Now, a few months before Christmas I am putting out the first of my crafts to be sold! I hope you enjoy looking at them. Feel free to check out some of the other projects (mostly home renovations) on my blog!
