Family Traditions
For as long as I can remember, my mother has always had her hands in needlework of some kind. She would always tell me how her own grandmother taught her to knit and crochet as a young child in France and she had the fondest memories of spending afternoons making doilies and afghans and whatever struck their fancy that day.
My grandfather (her father) would call it her "schniddling"...my dad would roll his eyes as she walked out with a tote full of yarn and needles and hooks as we embarked on a road trip...and all the while my mom would indignantly respond with the purpose to whatever project she was working on (and there were many) and how important it was she got it finished because she had 1548 other things right behind it. Around the age of nine I took an interest in her crochet projects and managed to create a few things for myself over a couple of years. As usually happens - teenageism set in and I became more focused on other things, shoving crochet to far corner of my skillset. Recently I have come full circle to now be the mom with a tote full of yarn and hooks as my husband and I take our own children on road trips.
It has always been a dream of my mother's to have a shop and a means to sell her creations. With the advent of the internet (and thank heavens for FaceTime!) and online stores it has allowed us to reconnect even though we are miles apart and share our craft with friends and family and more! We hope you find something you fancy within our listings, and please ask us if there is something you would like that you don't see!
