Life's too short knot to enjoy handmade...

Hello! My name is Amber and I’m the shopkeeper of Knot Tied Down.

I’ve been indulging my creative side with one thing or another all my life. I've enjoyed experimenting with different ideas, mediums and textures through sewing, knitting, paper weaving, knot tying, painting, pottery, photography and a bunch of fun and wacky, crafty things in between. Through the experimenting, I’ve found the things I enjoy creating the most to be hand-knitted items.

All items in the Knot Tied Down shop have been hand-knitted with care and patience by me using high quality materials in a smoke and animal free environment. I choose to use high quality, natural fibers. I believe that it’s worth paying a little more for something that will last, be a joy to wear and will look stunning.

You won’t find multiples of my items or see someone else wearing an item just like yours because each item in the Knot Tied Down shop is individually hand-knitted, a true one-of-a-kind, each unique and different.

Knitting for me is a very enjoyable and tactile experience. I enjoy the process of shopping in a yarn shop by touching, squeezing and smelling all the yarns (don't judge, I know I’m not the only one who does this!) I enjoy the search for just the perfect yarn for a project I have in mind or the surprise of having a yarn catch my eye, then realizing I can’t walk out of the store without it, and waiting patiently for that time when a project presents itself as a perfect match for that special yarn.

Because the knitting process is personal for me, I give my knitted items personal names. As you browse around the Knot Tied Down shop, you will see all my items have been named using a female name. I’ve named some of my items after women in my family and sometimes a knitted item just begs to be called by a certain name.

Additional policies and FAQs
For those with allergies, please know all items listed in my shop are made in a smoke-free and animal-free environment.

Some items in the Knot Tied Down shop have been pre-hand-washed with Euculan’s Eucalyptus No Rinse Delicate Wash. Euculan is a fine fabric wash that conditions natural fibers. The “no rinsing” formula provides for less stress on fibers and the Eucalyptus essential oil is a natural moth and flea inhibitor. The natural lanolin enriched formula naturally conditions the fiber and helps keep static away. Euculan is environmentally friendly because it’s nontoxic, biodegradable, and phosphate free. The eucalyptus scent is a very soft and fresh scent that is not overpowering.

Your business is greatly appreciated. I love making the hand-knitted items in my shop and sincerely hope you find as much joy in owning and wearing them.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
