Born and raised in Fukuoka, Japan, Kohei is a crafter currently based in Brooklyn.
With a background in architectural design, he began his career at an architecture design studio in Tokyo, where he developed a strong foundation in clarity and restraint.
Through hands-on design-build projects in Utah and Ghana, his practice gradually shifted toward making with his own hands. These experiences shaped his interest in craftsmanship, construction, and the relationship between design intent and physical process.
Today, he focuses on creating wooden products using CNC technology. Collaborating closely with New York–based local artists and designers, he refines each piece through ongoing dialogue and iteration, paying careful attention to detail in pursuit of the highest possible quality.

5 out of 5 starsIt was well finished smooth. The size was exactly same as the photo. I got it for a present and the finish was very high quality that was worth money. It came safe with a well packed with a paper cousion . Also I had to change the address and we’re able to change it fast.
