Design that nourishes relationship

Welcome! This is Coralee, the items in my shop explore relationships---between food, culture, people, and the land. As part of the care for these relationships, I work with local, organic, sustainable suppliers and materials as much as possible. This means I choose folks who are doing good work in their communities; I choose water based inks; I choose recycled (and eventually degradable) paper; my shipping materials are paper and biodegradable; and I choose organic cotton for my fabrics. I found this article from Patagonia really helpful in discussing a number of different fabrics. https://bit.ly/35BVFOW

My namesake Kore (also Cora) is the Roman name of the goddess Persephone. After she eats a pomegranate seed in the underworld, Persephone can't leave. Demeter, Persephone's mother, searches for her and finally discovers that Zeus sold Persephone to Hades. Through her persistent advocacy for justice, Demeter wins Persephone's return to Earth for half of each year. As Persephone returns, she ushers in life after winter. Her story represents interconnection between life and death, action and rest.

I named my shop for Kore to honor Persephone. I added Lea which is a field or arable land. I hope my shop helps to nourish relationships between people and people, people and place, and helps to restore balance in some small way.
