Beautiful! I am sure the recipient will love it.

About

Found: A medium and way to express myself!

The idea for my shop came after I found my medium - hand papermaking and bookbinding. Learning is repetition and I was making a lot of books to learn bindings. Friends and colleagues saw them and were interested in buying their own magic book.

I love working with my hands because it calms my mind. Bookbinding, hand papermaking, and letterpress are meditative, soothing. The needle, thread, and step in the process keeps me focused.

After making hundreds of books, I am still excited to see the finished product. I imagine who will be using it and send positive thoughts their way.

Owner, Maker, Making Fresh Handmade Paper And Magic Books

I grew up surrounded by people who made things with their hands. A grandfather who was a carpenter; a mother who was a quilter, painter, planter, baker; a father who did woodwork; a grandmother who did needlework. Making is nature and nurture!

So glad you stopped by this shop full of handmade paper and books! I work out of my home (soon to be studio) in Charleston, South Carolina. My work is the physical manifestation of my core values of beauty, integrity, creativity, joy, and service to others.

I love to participate in every part of the artistic process - designing and making the paper, binding books, writing poetry, hand lettering or drawing, making my own plates and printing on a letterpress. Each piece is the culmination of my artistic vision and core values.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
Returns and exchanges
I will accept returns up to 15 days after the order is received. Special orders are unique and not returnable.

Books are sewn with waxed linen thread, so please be mindful about placing books in direct sunlight or keeping them in a hot room or car. The wax will melt and the book binding will loosen. This is different than the normal loosening, which occurs with regular use over time.
Payment
I accept credit cards through PayPal. All work will begin or ship after the product has been purchased.

To cancel a purchase, please do so within 24 hours of placing your order. Cancellations made after 24 hours will be charge a restocking fee of $10.

Please put all special requests in the "notes to seller" section when you check out.

For orders shipped to South Carolina, sales tax will be added to your order.
Shipping
Shipping costs are in addition to the cost of each item.

IN THE UNITED STATES:
For books, I ship using USPS Priority Mail, insured with delivery confirmation. Individual pieces are placed in a plastic envelope and surrounded by bubble wrap to keep them well cushioned during shipping. For pulp paintings, I wrap them in plastic and bubble wrap, then double box with single and double wall cardboard and ship using FedEx Ground, insured with delivery confirmation.

Shipping charges range between $10 to $45 depending upon size and weight of package.

Usual delivery, from time purchase is completed, is three to five business (Monday through Friday) days. Please notify me in the "notes to seller" section if you need the item more quickly and I can Expedite the shipping for an additional shipping charge.

OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED STATES:
I ship books using USPS Priority mail, insured. Delivery time varies by customs clearance and location. The buyer is responsible for paying additional taxes or tariffs imposed by customs. Since there are many options for international shipping and the size of the package may be limited by carrier, please convo me about specific international shipping prices.

You will be sent an email when the item is shipped. Please make sure your shipping address is current on your Etsy profile because this is the address I will use.
Additional policies and FAQs
Each piece is made with my own two hands. Any slight variations in editions, multiple books with same paper, or pieces of handmade paper tells the user it is unique and handmade. The sign of slow craft!

I can gift wrap purchases for an additional fee of $10 upon request.
