About KrisWesterson
Found: A medium and way to express myself!
The idea for my shop came after I found my medium - hand papermaking and bookbinding. Learning is repetition and I was making a lot of books to learn bindings. Friends and colleagues saw them and were interested in buying their own magic book.
I love working with my hands because it calms my mind. Bookbinding, hand papermaking, and letterpress are meditative, soothing. The needle, thread, and step in the process keeps me focused.
After making hundreds of books, I am still excited to see the finished product. I imagine who will be using it and send positive thoughts their way.

Kris Westerson
Owner, Maker, Making Fresh Handmade Paper And Magic Books
I grew up surrounded by people who made things with their hands. A grandfather who was a carpenter; a mother who was a quilter, painter, planter, baker; a father who did woodwork; a grandmother who did needlework. Making is nature and nurture!
Shop policies
I love to participate in every part of the artistic process - designing and making the paper, binding books, writing poetry, hand lettering or drawing, making my own plates and printing on a letterpress. Each piece is the culmination of my artistic vision and core values.
Accepted payment methods
Returns and exchanges
Books are sewn with waxed linen thread, so please be mindful about placing books in direct sunlight or keeping them in a hot room or car. The wax will melt and the book binding will loosen. This is different than the normal loosening, which occurs with regular use over time.
