About

Teaching the world to crochet amigurumi!

Might seem like a Herculean task, but I am working towards my goal, one tutorial, pattern and crafter at a time.

It does seem a bit odd for a grown woman (at least that's what my ID says!) to get so excited about toys, but I really love what I do. I see the joy these cute critters bring and I realize I am saving the world in my own way, one smile at a time.

If you are looking to make some crocheted cuteness yourself, grab a copy of my patterns from here - https://www.etsy.com/shop/KristiTullus
But if crocheting is not your cup of tea, find all my finished toys - https://www.etsy.com/shop/KristiTullusToys

Thank you for stopping by!

I studied genetics and bioengineering for many years, but never became a scientist. I think my heart just wasn't in it. So now I am self employed and have plenty of time for my hobbies, one of which - toy making - I'd love to share with the world.

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer any discounts for purchasing more than one pattern?

You can use coupon code BUNDLE3 for a 10% discount if you purchase 3 patterns or more or BUNDLE5 for a 15% discount if you purchase 5 patterns or more.

What do your patterns look like? How are they written?

My patterns are written in English using US crochet terminology. Each pattern includes:

- List of materials.
- List of abbreviations.
- Photo tutorials for all techniques used, except the most basic crochet stitches.
- The actual pattern written with abbreviations, no charts are included.
- Step-by-step photo tutorials illustrating the whole process.

My patterns are laid out so the actual pattern is on just a few pages, with illustrating photos following. This way the more experienced crocheters can just print out the few pages with the actual pattern on it. But I have included little notes with page numbers in the pattern, so if you need to, you can quickly find the right photo tutorial.

What do your difficulty ratings mean?

1. Novice - Great project for taking your first steps in the world of amigurumi - basic stitches, repetitive pattern, simple shapes and easy assembly.

2. Beginner - These projects require a bit more experience and/or patience - may include more complicated stitch patterns, color changes or small details.

3. Intermediate - These projects combine a few of the more complicated techniques - may include lace patterns, color changes, small details and complicated shaping and assembly.

4. Advanced - Complicated projects that require expertise, patience and precision - may include a variety of patterns and stitches (including basic knitting, sewing and embroidery techniques), small details, complicated shapes, techniques and/or assembly.

When will I receive my pattern(s)?

Pattern(s) will be available to download once the payment has cleared. All payments except eChecks are usually processed immediately*, which means you can download the files right after clicking "Confirm order".

* Although most payments take seconds to complete, it can take up to 12 hours.

I accidentally deleted the pattern file(s). Can you replace them?

Absolutely! Contact me and I will send you the files via email. Please include your Etsy order number, your full name or Etsy username and your email address.

If you purchased a pattern after Apr 18, 2013, the download link will be available on Your Purchases page on Etsy.com.

May I sell finished items made with your patterns (including free patterns)?

You may make and sell as many toys as you want. I would appreciate a credit and a link to my blog (Kristi Tullus, http://spire.ee). If you are planning to recruit others to make the toys, please contact me first.
