Announcement   Hello! I'm so glad you found my little piece of heaven.

***

Everything in my shop is handmade by me—I am a one woman show. Between being home with my three young children and helping my husband run his business, I plan and create each and every piece.

There is something very special to me about taking an idea—a seed from deep within my brain—and bringing it to life with only simple hand tools and age-old metalsmithing techniques. I prefer to do as much of the crafting without the use of power tools, opting instead to work with my hands. Holding the piece, knowing it from each and every angle. Working slowly, not forcing ideas or stages... My jewellery is meant to last. Offering you solid craftsmanship and jewellery made from my heart is very important to me.

*Turn-around time on made-to-order items is up to three weeks. This does not include shipping time. Can't wait that long? You have options! Either add 'Rush My Order' from the 'RUSH' section of my shop, or contact me to upgrade your order with speedier shipping options.*

Are you a returning customer? Check your digital invoice for a coupon code to save 20% off your next purchase!

Amazing earrings. I love the organic feel, and that they are recycled (how awesome is that). Fast shipping and Kristin was a pleasure to deal with. I will be back again and again.

About

Jolie Handmade Jewellery

I started making jewellery while pregnant with our second child, sometime around the end of 2011. My job at the time wasn't very fulfilling, and my creative self had been missing for too long. While purging 'stuff'—purposefully small homes force a family to be choosey about what stays and what is not necessary!—I came across some handmade glass beads I had used to decorate the basket for cards at our wedding. I thought the beads would make a lovely pair of earrings, however, I didn't have any tools or materials to make that happen. I took a trip to my local bead supply store, purchased the necessary items [plus a bit more], and made some earrings. That felt good! And they looked good! And somebody wanted to buy them!! I went back to the store and bought more beads... My husband lovingly donated an unused tackle box so I could organize my small stash. I quickly outgrew the small tackle box and upgraded to something with drawers and compartments. And soon that wasn't big enough! Next up I claimed a corner of our basement for my jewellery bench. I had beads, I had wire, but that wasn't quite satisfying my need to create.

Curiosity led me down many an Instagram rabbit trail where I discovered talented artisans from all over the world who, like me, were compelled to make, to tell stories with the fruits of their hands. I began to look beyond beads and wire wrapping. I wanted more... I wanted to play with fire!

My journey with fire started in June of 2013, at my kitchen table. Thank goodness for a local artisan who very patiently answered all of my never-ending questions [still does!], gave me lists of what to buy, and plenty of advice on what to try. I am a visual learner, and since I have never attended a class or school to learn metalsmithing, YouTube videos have been a great resource.

Since those humble beginnings we have moved out of our very small house [all three kids in one room!] to a slightly larger house. Two of our three children still share a room [that's what makes for tight sisters, right?] but we have a bit more space to grow into. My husband promised me my own space, and to show how serious he was, my studio was the first room to be created in our newly renovated basement.

Making time for my jewellery is a challenge sometimes, since the demands of being a full-time momma come first. With the help of our wonderful parents, I look forward to occasional days to myself, which I spend filling orders and playing at my bench.

It is important to me to create jewellery that will become cherished pieces, whether it's a simple stacking ring or an elaborate custom piece. I enjoy the challenges my fabulous customers bring to me. Learning new techniques is fuel for my fire.

Refunds and Exchanges
PLEASE NOTE BEFORE PURCHASE:

Read dimensions and descriptions carefully to ensure the product works for you, dimensions are approximate and may vary.

I do my best to represent each item accurately in the photos, as well as in the listing description. Sometimes photos can't answer all questions you may have about a particular item. Please do not hesitate to ask for additional photos if you are uncertain about anything at all. Etsy listings only allow for five [5] photos and sometimes the story can't quite be told in only a handful of photos!

I do not offer returns or refunds on made-to-order items or custom items. Please be sure of what you want during the creation process, as well as your correct ring size. If you need assistance in figuring out correct ring size, either visit a jewellery store or purchase a ring sizer [found in my etsy shop]. The purchase price of the ring sizer can be put towards custom made rings in my shop. [The purchase price of the ring sizer is not applicable towards read-to-ship rings.]

I only accept returns due to defects in my workmanship—please note that these refunds will be given at my discretion. Returns of ready-to-ship pieces can be made for 'store credit' of the same amount of original purchase price, but you must notify me within two days of receiving your package that you wish to return. Shipping is non-refundable.

Note that colors vary from monitor to monitor setting. Please ask for additional photos you are unsure of a color.

Because I use natural materials in my handmade jewellery, sometimes colour, pattern, shape and texture etc. may vary from piece to piece, even within a piece. If your item is made-to-order, please expect some differences and variation from the photos in the listing. If your item is ready-to-ship, you will receive the exact item in the listing.

My jewellery is borne of a love of creating. My jewellery tells a story. If you prefer precision and symmetry in the jewellery you wear, then perhaps my handmade jewellery isn't right for you.

*The more questions you ask, the more information I can provide to you to ensure your 100% satisfaction on your order.*
