About

how it happened

While working on my Master of Fine Arts degree at the New York Academy of Figurative Art in Manhattan, I got experience of the rich culture and traditions. Once I stumbled over a book about the ancient and dying art of Judaic Papercut. I was enthralled by the detail, the precision, the exactness of converting plain paper into a living, breathing interplay between characters and a landscape. I spent months poring over the secrets of the ancient masters of paper and blade. Each page had a story to tell, and I wanted to expose its beauty to the world. Then I discovered the complementary nature of paper: one page had a story, but two had a dialogue that added multidimensionality. Each color brings its own voice, and the conversation creates space from a planar world. My journey continues, and there are many more stories to bring out, as well as new canvases to find. Thank you for taking the time to read about me and view my work. Please stop by anytime to see my newest stories.
