Krystal Dawn

More Than Just a Drawing.

My name is Krystal Dawn, and I'm all about art with function.

Creating art is about more than just making an image that's nice to look at; it's about impact. At its core, art is about the communication of ideas, experiences, emotions, hopes and fantasies. Unlike books or manuscripts, an artwork's story is translated through the use of color, shape, texture and form rather than the written word.

We are drawn to art that we can connect to on a personal level. We make evaluations of whether or not we "like" a work of art based on our preferences, experiences, and consequent interpretation of said piece.

This goes for our interaction with any and all art forms, whether we're traversing the halls of a architectural masterpiece, browsing the wares of the steampunk jewelry vendor at comic con, or admiring the bold movement of a kinetic sculpture.

Designing images and products that are in essence an outpouring of my own interpretation of life and the things I love becomes a way to share those interpretations and concepts with others who connect with those ideas as they see them through their own perspective.

The materials that shape my art also tell a story of their own.

In my store you'll find a growing collection of prints made from artworks completely crafted out of upcycled magazines. I use this unique twist on the collage medium to give trash otherwise destined for a landfill a distinct and dignified purpose.

I draw inspiration from what materials are at my disposal, what others have done before me, and what I can do to improve upon these ideas.

I hope you find that you can connect to one of the pieces in my shop. Custom orders, questions and suggestions are more than welcome!

Who knows-- you may discover a bit of yourself in something I made.

"How are you packaging my item?"

All prints are sealed in a protective plastic sleeve, and are then sandwiched between pieces of stiff cardboard to prevent bending during shipping. The print and cardboard are then sealed in a medium/large packing envelope.

Multiple prints shipped together will arrive in one envelope, but sealed in separate plastic sleeves.

Please contact me if you have concerns with shipping, or would like to make alternate shipping arrangements.
