Just wish they would have been longer...after being stuck in the ground they aren't very high and hard to reach if they are next to a chair. But they're still cool

About

L3 Forge: Authentic, high-quality iron work from Oregon.

Sam Lee's passion for the forge comes from the combination of two strong forces in his life: entrepreneurism and working with animals.

Sam started selling eggs to his neighbors as a boy in Ohio. He would ride his bike along his route, learning the do's and don'ts of running a business. His egg selling enterprise grew into a sizeable operation. By the time he graduated high school, Sam was overseeing 350 laying hens.

Sam was intrigued by blacksmithing as a boy. He was drawn to the forge and learned everything he could from anyone who was willing to teach him.

Sam knew he wanted to spend his life working with animals, and set out to earn a living doing just that.

Sam served in the Marines, earning Military All-Around Rodeo World Champion honors in 1987. He is a Champion Sheep and Cattle Dog Trainer and has been an FFA and 4H Leader for many years.

All the while, Sam has stayed connected to the forge. He spent 20 years shoeing horses. His travels have taught him many styles and techniques that now are on display through the L3 Forge.

Sam is a fifth generation Douglas County resident. His lineage traces back to one of the original pioneer families in the area.

Sam and his wife Karen manage the L3 sheep and cattle ranch outside of Roseburg, Oregon. They make an amazing team. Karen oversees the ranch and her own dog boarding business, while Sam works as a Financial Planner and volunteers as an auctioneer. He serves on local and state education boards and is also a husband, father and grandfather.

This etsy store allows people around the world to see the one of a kind pieces Sam produces at the L3 Forge. Many of his pieces are too large to ship, which is why many of the items for sale here are relatively small.

I spent 20 years shoeing horses on the rodeo circuit, helping me hone my craft into what you see on Etsy. My goal is to produce high quality, one-of-a-kind elements for your home or barn. I like to think of my work as 'conversation starters'.

Welcome to L3 Iron & Wood

After more than 20 years as a farrier and 30 years of blacksmithing, I have hundreds of leftover horseshoes and just as many great gift ideas.

Most of my creations come from reclaimed materials. Everything I make comes from my smithy in rural southwest Oregon.

I enjoy getting input from customers. I hope you enjoy this shop.
