Prachtige handgemaakte zeep gemaakt met eenvoudige, natuurlijke ingrediënten.
Beautiful Handmade Soap made with Simple, Natural Ingredients.
- Zelfgemaakte zeep is houdbaar.
"The simpler, the better" applies to almost everything, I believe. Especially when it comes to what we put in and on our bodies.
Here are some interesting facts about homemade soap:
- Only essential oils are used as fragrance in LATHRStudio soaps, no synthetic fragrances or perfumes
- Minerals, herbal infusions, clays, or just the natural hue of the oils used are examples of the colorants I use. Nature provides a rainbow of options. You will not find artificial dyes here!
- All ingredients are pronounceable and natural. Every ingredient used, I list.
- Homemade soap naturally has glycerin, a humectant that helps draw moisture to your skin. Commercial manufacturers will often extract the glycerin from their soaps to use in other products.
- Because homemade soap has glycerin, it is naturally softer than commercial soap and should be kept dry between uses to maximize its life. A soap dish/rack that drains and allow air flow around the bar is perfect.
- Homemade soap has a shelf life. Use your bar within 12-24 months of purchasing!
- You cannot make soap without lye, aka sodium hydroxide or caustic soda. Lye has a PH of about 14, which is why soapmakers need to gear up when they make soap! Fortunately, the interaction between the distilled water, fats and lye (resulting in soap) neutralizes lye's harsh PH, leaving fully saponified soap at a PH of around 7-8.
