Witty wearables and modern prints
After giving up on becoming a grocery store clerk, Saturday Night Live actress, and an astronaut, I went to college and became an interior designer. In hindsight, it was an obvious career choice. One reason is because I enjoyed setting up Barbie’s house more than actually playing with Barbies. Plus, acting classes in middle school proved I couldn’t actually act.
Interior design has been a wonderful career, but there was just something missing in the day to day. I needed to step back from the computer and get back to sketching. LEFTright has given me a creative outlet that is my own collection of illustrations that I get to make and share with others. In hindsight, it was an obvious choice. One reason is because as long as there have been margins on paper, I’ve been doodling.
My primary focus is creating hip and humorous organic baby wearables by screen printing my own hand drawings onto organic, high quality materials. I also make block and screen printed fair trade bags, recycled blank cards, modern natural tea towels, hemp and cotton pillows, and recycled kraft wrapping paper. I strive for originality and love using rich and vibrant colors. Environmental preservation is the driving force behind my selection of quality materials.
When I’m not in my studio or at my full-time job, I might be pretending I can grow plants, cruising Holland, Michigan on my pretty blue bike, or watching movies with my husband.
