So it's been about a year since we relaunched the brand. I'm really excited with how far we've come. All the support from all of our amazing customers has been great. This is really only the beginning of our journey and I hope that we can continue to expand so that we can make our clothing more affordable without sacrificing quality.

We'll be bringing in more prints in the 2nd half of 2021. Colorful. Bright. Fun.
Thank you to all our customers so all the kind reviews. You all are super crucial in helping our small California shop grow.

Hi,
My name is Jim and I'm the creator of L I V D.

So what's the story behind the name L I V D?
It's a wordplay on the word livid (liv·id), because we're livid about the wrong things in the world.

Where is the plus size fashion? Why can't we make affordable and quality clothes in the USA?

A little background: My pops has been in the apparel manufacturing side for as long as I can remember, he's traveled the world to oversee factories in places like China, Guatemala, Honduras, etc..

But that life is not an easy one and difficult for an old man.

So that brings the story to me.
I received a degree in Merchandise and Marketing from the prestigious Fashion Institute of Design and Marketing (FIDM) in 2017.
Representing the Los Angeles Campus!

At FIDM, I was shocked to learn that the average American woman is a size 16/18. Why? Because most of the fashion industry focuses on a size 12 and under. People would say, oh those big girls don't want too fashionable stuff. WRONG!(edit: Written in 2017, I think we realize now that they definitely do!)

People also said, you can't make clothes in the USA. "It's too expensive," they'd say.
I want to show people that's also false.

Through L I V D, we can bring more fashionable and affordable items to plus sizes while securing American jobs.

Cheers,
Jim

bringing back manufacturing to the U.S.

My name is Jim and welcome to my LIVD shop!
If you're wondering how it's pronounced - it's the same pronunciation as livid (liv·id).

I've worked in the apparel industry for some time, but a lot of time I find my creativity stunted by retail financial goals.

So here I am. Taking a risk; Changing something bad to good; and pursuing a dream.
Get L I V D
I hope you all enjoy what you see and end up picking up an item!

I want to create beautiful pieces of art that people can wear.
Statement pieces that are not your ordinary pieces of clothing. Most of my items will cause you to grab people's attention, some more than others.

We try to have everything under one house. Scavenged some free sewing machines here and there. Learned how to sew through youtube.
A year after conceiving the idea and with the help of my family, we're launching full steam ahead!

UPDATE: 8/21/20
We've come a long way since 2016.
More of everything in house. Cutting tables, Sewing machines. Professional seamstresses.
We're determined to make sure plus size women get more options for clothes.
We'll start off with basics and then work our way up to more fashionable goods.
