My most memorable design moments always centered around color! Working as a young assistant in an architecture firm, I was often given the task of selecting exterior color palettes. That early experience shaped everything — I've now spent over 20 years helping homeowners choose the perfect paint colors for their interiors and exteriors.
Years later, when I appeared on HGTV's Designers' Challenge, the outtakes (okay — bloopers) I repeatedly said the name of the wall color which was "Roasted Sesame Seed" as "Roasted Sesame Street." My first-time mom brain was mixed up and the color name was cut during editing. Years later, I would know when the episode aired again as my inbox would fill with the same question — what is the name of the paint color in the design?
