Making all sorts of pretty things to make your life better

I've always liked making things--anything and everything! All forms of creating are fascinating to me. For now, most of my focus for creating items to sell is on woodturning using gorgeous, colorful hardwoods and making intricate bobbin lace from beautiful cottons, silks, and linens. I'm mostly self-taught in both processes--I actually started the woodturning in order to make bobbins for lacemaking! (Full disclosure, though: While I still make bobbins, including to sell, I mostly use plastic bobbins to make lace with. Go figure.) I also made the firm pillows I make the lace on.

Basically, I just love using beautiful materials to make practical things.

Welcome to my shop!

Accepted payment methods

Returns and exchanges
Please make sure you know what you want before you buy it! If you have any questions about an item, send me a message and I will be happy to give you additional information.

In the event that an item is damaged when received, I will replace or refund the purchase (refund in the event that I cannot replace). I will require photographic proof of the damage. Due to the time involved in making my merchandise, replacement may take up to two weeks.

If you change your mind after receiving the purchased item, please contact me within 5 business days for return authorization. Buyer will be responsible for the return shipping. When I have received the returned item(s), the purchase price will be refunded less the shipping costs, and in the case of earrings, a restocking fee for replacing the hooks or other findings.
I require payment in my hands before I ship. I accept money orders, checks, and PayPal. Please pay within 48 hours. If you are mailing your payment to me, please let me know within 48 hours so I know when to expect your payment.

Utah-based purchases will be subject to 6.55% sales tax. The tax will be automatically calculated on your PayPal invoice. If sales tax applies, but you do not wish to pay through PayPal, I will contact you with the correct total.
I will ship US orders within three business days of receiving payment. If, for some reason, I am delayed, I will notify you at the earliest opportunity. For most US orders, I use Paypal shipping, and you will receive email notification of when your item has shipped. International orders will be shipped within a week of receiving payment, and I will notify you when your international order has been shipped.

Please note--if your location's shipping restrictions prohibit my product being shipped to you, I will notify you and cancel the sale. Also, I always list the correct value on customs slips. Purchaser is responsible for any applicable import duties and taxes.

Shipping prices are based on USPS first class shipping. I will use delivery confirmation. I can arrange for UPS shipping on request. If you request UPS shipping or expedited shipping through any carrier, you will be responsible for the extra cost, for which you will receive a separate invoice. I may choose UPS for some larger domestic shipments, rather than USPS, as I prefer their tracking system. If I choose to change the carrier, I will notify you, and your shipping cost will not be increased. If you specifically want me to ship by USPS, please indicate this preference in the Notes to Seller when ordering.
Additional policies and FAQs
I am happy to consider Alchemy and custom orders. At this time, I am not accepting wholesale orders.

1. Bobbin lace is an old technique. Unlike the more commonly known crocheted and tatted laces, which are worked from one continuous thread, bobbin lace is made from many threads. The threads are wound onto sticks called bobbins, which serve as handles for manipulating the threads. The process is very much like braiding, in that it consists of twisting threads over and under each other in particular patterns. I work primarily in the Torchon style, with some Bedford and influence of other styles.

2. My turned wood items are cut by me on my Delta Midi lathe, which is kept in my garage along with my drill press and scroll saw.

3. All items in my shop are made by me in my pet free, smoke free, drug free home.

4. I'm semi-trade-friendly. I am pretty picky, and won't trade just for the sake of trading. If you happen to be one of the people I've marked as a favorite, or make the same sort of items as my favorites, go ahead and ask. Otherwise, you can ask if you want to, but bear in mind that I don't like cutesy stuff and have little to no use for paper crafts (well, except for origami jewelry. I have a weakness for origami jewelry).
