Hoarder or Preserver of the Past?

Hi, my name is Liz. I have been married for 33 years to a most wonderful man. We have three sons, one daughter-in-law and three beautiful granddaughters. We share our homes in the UK and France with the two bestest dogs in the whole wide world, our beautiful Rhodesian Ridgebacks Poppy and Hector.

I am a terrible hoarder, and have been collecting all sorts of weird and wonderful things for many many years. I love antique textiles like nightdresses and bloomers, linen and lace. I collect all sorts of quirky vintage French and English goodies, books and music. I love all kinds of crafty things, sewing, quilting, beading etc.. Lately I have been fascinated by collages, fabric or paper, doesn't matter, as long as I can mess around with lots of different elements, vintage of course.

I have always thoroughly enjoyed haggling at the French brocantes and the English boot fairs. It is so much fun! I get very enthusiastic about all kinds of beautiful old treasures, but I have collected far too much and as we want to move to a smaller home now the children are grown up, a lot of my little treasures need to find new homes. I love passing my finds on to other people who also love these gorgeous time worn beauties and Etsy gives me the opportunity to reach like minded people from all over the world.

Favourite items for my shop include French religious items like crucifixes, rosaries, Holy Water fonts, kitchen/dining items like enamelware, baking tins, all kinds of pretty storage tins, ephemera, vintage fabrics, trims, braid and lace, french towels and sheets, French medical/apothecary/pharmacy things, all kinds of weird and wonderful one-offs. Just pop into the shop and see for yourself ;-) !

I try and keep the shop open even when we are in France spending time at our cottage. I prepare all items which are for sale so that they are ready to go, and if an item sells, my son will just take the package to the post office for me, bless him.

Hello and welcome. You will find a pretty eclectic mix of English and French antique and vintage goodies in my shop.
We share our time between the UK, where we live in a Victorian house, and France, where we live in a 150 year old farmer's cottage. I have been collecting lace, fabrics, old books and all manner of interesting, weird and wonderful old stuff for many many years.
For me the hunt and the haggling at brocantes in France and boot fairs in England is the most fun bit. By now, our homes are overflowing, and because I can't possibly keep every treasure I find forever, once they have spent some time with me and been admired and loved, I make them available to others who love the same things as I do. I am not a professional dealer, just a lover and collector of beautiful old treasures who needs to clear space occasionally ;-).

Returns and exchanges
It is my sincere hope that none of my customers will ever have reason to return an item, but sometimes things can go wrong. I will always do my very best to try and sort things out with you, so please get in touch with me and explain the problem first.

I am only human, and if I have made a mistake and an item is not as described then I will refund the original purchase price including shipping plus return shipping at basic cost, on return of the item in the same condition as it was sent out by me and within 14 days of receipt. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the return item reaches me in the same condition as it was posted by me. Ensure that the return package is marked "RETURNED GOODS" in order to avoid customs charges. I cannot accept return packages which attract Customs charges.

If a purchase gets damaged during transport to you, I require photographs of the damage as well as photographs of all packaging in order to action a refund. Sometimes the actual item plus the original packaging needs to be returned in order to deal with insurance claims so please hang on to them until otherwise advised. Items have to be returned within 14 days of receipt. Shipping will only be refunded at the basic cost.
When returning an item, please clearly mark the package 'RETURNED GOODS', to avoid any Customs charges. I am not responsible for any return Customs charges and cannot accept packages which have attracted such charges. Any charges incurred are the responsibility of the customer.

Orders may be cancelled within 14 days of receipt and I will refund the original purchase price less shipping. It is the customer's responsibility to cover the return postage and ensure safe return of the item in the original condition it was sent out by me.
To cancel an order please use the form in this link -
I accept Paypal internationally. If you would like to pay by credit card, you can do this via Paypal without having a Paypal account. On occasion and by prior arrangement I may accept a UK£ cheque if the buyer is in the UK, or a Euro cheque if from a French bank and the buyer's address is in France. Cheques need to clear before the purchase can be posted which takes 7 working days in the UK.
Shipping cost " with another item " is way too difficult to work out because of the nature of my items, so, if you would like to purchase more than one item, please email me, and I will work out combined shipping cost for you. If you can't wait for a custom listing ( different time zones mean I can't always respond straight away), just purchase the items normally, and I will refund overpaid shipping costs via Paypal.

Within the UK, I send everything under 2kg first class, packages under 2kg to Europe and worldwide are sent by normal airmail.
In the UK I always get a 'proof of posting' receipt which includes insurance cover up to £20, in France, unless tracking and/or insurance is added, I can only get a payment receipt from the post office.
Higher value orders will only be sent with track and signed for service.

Any additional customs fees/import taxes/VAT etc are the responsibility of the buyer. I cannot work out fees/handling charges/taxes for each and every country. PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR OWN CUSTOMS HOW MUCH YOU ARE ALLOWED TO IMPORT BEFORE TAXES ETC APPLY.

Some countries have restrictions on what you are allowed to import. It is up to you, the customer, to make sure that whatever you purchase is legally allowed into your country.
