Start my dream label!

☆La version française se trouve plus bas! / French version follows...☆

✄ La Nokto is a woman clothing line entirely designed and produced by yours truly. I’m based in Quebec city (somewhere in the East yet still french part of Canada), not too far from where I grew up, not that far from where the little girl’s dream of having her own label first appeared.

The adventure started somewhere around 1995, the year that I got my diploma from the Academy of Arts & design. Since then, I’ve come a long way that brought me from a puppet theatre to the workshop of different designers, from making costumes for movies to creating costumes for the circus. 2002 was a turning point as I decided to expand my knowledge and learn the art of costumes from the masters in France. This is how I ended up, a couple of months and flights later, in the Opera of Montpellier. Time, experiences and life went by and made me reconsider the world of fashion.

So where are we now? Oh yes, 2010! The year I decided to leave Montreal and move to Quebec city to settle down, set up my studio and start my label: La Nokto!

By the way, Nokto means night in Esperanto (a universal language). “La” is my French touch to it. That being said, the concept of “night’ can evoke so many things so deciding where La Nokto leads is really up to you!

All of my clothes are created in small runs. Some of the fabrics I buy are mill end, which means once they are gone, you won’t see them again! I like to use lace, sheer meshes, and lots of jersey. I am especially enamored with bamboo which I try to use whenever possible. Everything you buy from me is well made, and built to last for a long time.

I hope you enjoy my works and thanks for looking :)

¨°º©©º°¨¨¨¨¨¨°º©©º°¨¨¨¨ NOTE FOR SHIPPING COST ¨¨¨¨°º©©º°¨¨¨¨¨¨°º©©º°¨

Estimating shipping prices can be tricky for clothing, which varies so much in size and weight. Quoting for shipping outside of Canada or the US is especially difficult, so I lump it all in to 'everywhere else'. I only know the shipping price once I've been the post office, so my policy is to REFUND any overcharges on shipping greater than $2. Contact me if you'd like a quote specific to your location.
