Prairie Studio se basa en una creencia sencilla: la madera en bruto, con sus formas e imperfecciones naturales, nos ayuda a reconectar con las cosas simples de la vida.
Pero también puede inspirar y sorprender. Al fin y al cabo, la vida es más divertida cuando no haces exactamente lo que hacen los demás.

Mi taller se encuentra en una pradera rodeada de robles y castaños centenarios en Bretaña. Esto me permite trabajar con madera local, sostenible y renovable, a menudo procedente de árboles caídos o talados en las cercanías. Es una madera preciosa que no ha viajado por todo el mundo ni proviene de bosques devastados.

Cada mueble es único, ya sea por su composición orgánica (no hay dos ramas iguales), ya sea por mis acciones: utilizo principalmente herramientas manuales, como el cepillo, el cepillo de mano.
Creo que podemos hacer cosas bonitas de una manera más respetuosa: con materiales locales, tiempo y menos máquinas.

Objetos y muebles diseñados para ser únicos, duraderos, funcionales y para aportar una presencia serena pero a la vez estimulante a cualquier espacio. Pensados para quienes desean un pedacito de bosque y lo inesperado en su hogar.

Prairie Studio began about ten years ago, in a small cabin that served as my office, set in a meadow surrounded by old trees. Living and working so close to them every day naturally inspired me to imagine simple, beautiful pieces of furniture with graceful and timeless silhouettes.

Raw wood, with its natural shapes and imperfections, helps us reconnect with the simple things in life. It brings warmth, character, and a quiet sense of serenity into the home.
But it can also inspire and surprise. After all, life is more fun when things aren’t exactly like everyone else’s.

So my workshop sits in a meadow bordered by old oak and chestnut trees in Brittany, France. This allows me to work with local wood that is durable and renewable, often coming from trees that have fallen or been cut nearby. Beautiful wood that hasn’t traveled across the planet and doesn’t come from devastated forests.

Each piece of furniture is unique, either because of its organic composition (no two branches are ever the same), or because of the way it is made. I mainly use traditional hand tools such as a drawknife and a hand plane.

I believe beautiful objects can be made in a more respectful way: using local materials, time, and fewer machines.
