Searching for the stories behind forgotten treasures.

Do you know that feeling when you're wandering through a thrift store and you suddenly see *the perfect thing*, the thing you've been searching in vain for, and you can't believe that there it is, just waiting for you to take it home? It's such a thrilling moment, to realize how lucky you are to have been in the right place at the right time. La Roux Vintage grew out of a desire to share that feeling with others. My name is Erika, although everyone calls me Rew (hence my shop name - a play off of my nickname and a nod to my red hair!) and I love all things vintage. I like to think that perhaps by seeing the beauty in something discarded or otherwise forgotten, I can help bring it to the one person who has been searching for it.

I grew up in a small town in Connecticut that happened to be host to the largest weekly flea market in New England. Wandering that huge field of everything under the sun, I developed a deep love and appreciation for antiques and vintage goods. My taste has been constantly changing over the years, but when finding treasures I look for quality of craftsmanship, condition, how rare or sought after an object is, its usefulness (or potential usefulness if it can be repurposed!) and a timeless sense of style. I hope there are others like me; those with a budget but a passion for all things old, who can find something they really love *and* afford in my shop. I love making people happy - it's what I strive to do in my daily life and with my Etsy shop.

At La Roux Vintage, I offer antique and vintage books, home decor, glass and serving ware, jewelry and clothing. If you're looking for something special, I absolutely love requests and do my best to find exactly what you need - if I can't find it, I'll help you reach someone who can!

My personal collections include mid-century illustrated children's books (especially by Clare Turlay Newberry), Bavarian bone china teacups, and adding to my album of discarded black and white candid photos. I live in Somerville, MA (just outside of Boston) with my long-haired cat Lila and my fellow-artist boyfriend Allan, my biggest supporters and causers of spontaneous cuddle puddles. When not hunting for new vintage goods, I'm often found cold-brewing coffee at home, crafting or painting, and running.
