About

Making pine needle baskets is my passion!

Making pine needle baskets is my passion!
Creating a pine needle basket is quite a process. First there is the hunt for those perfect Ponderosa Pine needles. The method of gathering needles, sorting and preparing them makes each basket a fun adventure with a lot of work mixed in. Sweetgrass from my garden is also used in my baskets which gives the basket a delightful, fresh aroma. Additional materials are gathered for embellishments such as agate centers, beads, threads, and black walnut slices (of course from our local Black Walnut trees). Finally, there is the craftsmanship involved in coiling each basket which results in a one of a kind effort with no two baskets alike! Each basket exhibits a unique handmade product and a labor of love!
I began selling my pine needle baskets at our local art gallery in 2010. I was thrilled, knowing that each basket sold would be going to a good home. I also sell my baskets at local bazaars and trade shows. In addition, one of our elite Home and Gift stores in town is now selling my baskets.
Pine needle basketry is still a passion of mine. I am retired so I can relax and create that perfect basket without any time constraints. With that luxury, my baskets are unique and truly are a labor of love!
