Hello! Just a little more info about how I run my shop:

-I personally make all of my soaps in small batches with quality ingredients using the cold process soap making method. Once a batch is finished, I cut the soap and it needs to cure for at least 4 weeks before I will sell it. The curing process makes for a longer lasting, better lathering all around mellow soap. I will make a note of soaps that are currently on the curing rack in my shop announcement and approximately when they will be ready for sale.

-Because I make all the soaps in small batches, nothing is mass produced, the appearance of the soap will vary with each batch and sometimes with each bar. So what you see in the photo is similar in look to what you will get.

-I have been developing my soap recipes for over 3 years now and testing them out on any willing friends and family. My soaps are always human tested, never ever tested on any critters.

-I take great pride in presenting a soap that is not only wonderful to use, but pleasing to the eye. My logo and all of my labels are designed by me and I label each bar with great care.

-Because of all of the above, my prices are firm, I do not offer bulk discounts.

-I returned to college this year (2012) so I will not be able to accommodate many, if any, custom orders while school is in session.

-I will happily consider custom orders, although I will not always be able to accommodate all requests (please bear in mind that custom orders for cold process soap will take 4 to 6 weeks to cure).

Thanks so much! Have fun on Etsy :D.

  • Buy with Apple Pay
  • Pay with Sofort
  • Pay with iDeal
  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
I accept Paypal, Credit Cards through Direct Checkout and Etsy Gift Cards in my shop.

E-checks through Paypal take 3-4 business days to clear, and items paid for this way will not be shipped until the E-check clears.

If you have put an item in your cart and forget to check-out, I will convo you to ask about the item. If I do not hear from you or receive payment for this item (or notice of payment) within three days, I will cancel the sale and relist the item.
-A new school semester is underway for me, I will not be able to ship items on Mondays or Wednesdays, as I am in class all day on these two days, thank you!

-If your Paypal address and Etsy address are not similar, I will email you to ask which I should mail to. If I don't hear back from you before I mail the package, I will ship to the Etsy address.

-My shipping prices reflect the cost of postage, delivery confirmation (for orders in the USA), certificate of mailing (for international orders only) and packaging.

-I am very happy to ship internationally, just send me a conversation and I can work out the cost of shipping anywhere outside the Continental U.S. My international shipping costs include cost of packaging and cost of a "certificate of mailing". They are sent via USPS First Class International Mail and take anywhere from 7 to 14 days to arrive once shipped (the post office tends to be fairly vague on exact number of days). It costs considerably more to ship internationally with tracking, if you want a quote on this, I will be happy to provide one.

-International customers are responsible for all fees, taxes, and duties associated with shipping to their respective countries.

-All orders delivered in the U.S. will be delivered via USPS First Class Mail(depending on the weight of the package, any orders that weigh over 13 ounces will go out Priority Mail) and should arrive at your doorstep 3 to 5 days after the order is mailed (excluding Weekends and Holidays and hoping that the post office stays on target). If you need an item shipped faster, let me know and I will recalculate the shipping for you!

-All orders, *except for items paid for by E-check*, will be posted 1 to 3 days after they are paid for (excluding Weekends, Holidays, and days that I am in class). Orders Placed on Friday, Saturday or Sunday will be posted on Monday or Tuesday (unless Monday is a Holiday). I do attend college, so I cannot always get orders in the post the day after they are placed.

-Items paid for by E-check will not be shipped out until the E-check has cleared, this usually takes 3-4 business days (sometimes longer if there is a weekend or holiday during that time).

-If you would like a speedier arrival, convo me and I can work out cost of Priority mail or other.

-If you need a package to be gift wrapped, just let me know :).

-If you would prefer your package to be insured, let me know and I can adjust the cost accordingly.
Refunds and Exchanges
Because of the personal nature of soap and skin care items, I cannot accept returns. If you are unhappy with your item for any reason, please contact me through Etsy Conversations or through my email: lakehousesoapworks at gmail dot com. I will try my best to solve the issue with a replacement or a refund. I want you to be happy with my products!

If a package is lost in the mail (fingers crossed, knock on wood this doesn't happen), I will replace the item, but it may require up to a four weeks for me to replace the item if that soap is not currently in stock. If I need to order materials to reproduce the item, it could take longer.
Additional policies and FAQs
-I only list items in my shop that are finished and that I have in stock ready to ship (except for novelty soaps made with a melt and pour base).
-These items take time to produce and a lot of me goes into each one.
-I do my best to make sure each and every item is of the highest quality possible.
