Where I'm coming from...

I'm always collecting things...and making things. I am drawn to items that have a rich visual and physical texture, such as the softness of lambs wool or the unique roundness of wood shaped by waves and rocks. I also love vintage - items which have been useful, perhaps cherished - and now can continue to find life in new ways.

I am inspired by the natural world, and how, when mindful, humans can celebrate it's beauty. This requires being careful to create in ways that honor the earth and protect it.

Our children are makers too, constantly creating inventions, experiments, sculptures, jewelry, and more. So, our collection of creative resources grows, some of which I have turned to sharing here with others who may be inspired by them.

So I keep making because I just have to...and now, because we are a #makerfamily.

My work can also be found at West Bay Handmade in Traverse City, Michigan, and at the Art Consortium of Carver County, Minnesota.

    Everything

Simply, I can't keep my mind or hands still. I create to process the world, create to create, and create to find personal sanity. And so I can keep creating without filling up the house or dumping them all on my friends, here they are on Etsy!
