Announcement   Sorry I have been missing so long. The past 4 months have been spent with my mother who recently passed. Hers was a long fight and I am happy she is free from the prison that was her body.
On a lighter note, I will be getting in the shop again soon! I will not be taking customs but am happy to hear what you would like to show up in the shop. I will only be making a few things at a time because I will be working and going to school but I will do my best to keep the shop active so keep an eye out!
Thank you all, Karla

If you would like to keep up with updates in the shop then I would love for you to check out my Larks Creations Facebook page at

I am not currently accepting any custom orders, thanks.
I have updated the shop policys section and am now requiring a deposit for custom orders. Talk to me first before purchasing a deposit listing to ensure I have the wood on hand and to discus the design and price before I create your perfect piece!

This is just amazing! I really like the faceted shape, to my mind it looks even nicer than regular moons and it holds really well. I was a bit concerned that it wouldn't hold well but it holds a lot better than regular sticks. It's smooth, shiny and flawless, truly a pleasure to hold and a privilege to own. I love both sides, but the maple looks especially good against my brown hair. Leopardwood side is nice when I want to have something that matches my hair more. The moon is a bit big for me right now but I knew that when I bought it, I wanted to have room to grow. And it still holds fabulously, the only problem is that it looks a bit big in my bun.

About

Full circle.

My favorite place as a child was my Grandpas wood shop, the smell of a wood shop always takes me back to that spot! He was the first one to teach me about wood and showed me how to carefully widdle my first stick down beside the bon fire.
As I got older I tried different mediums, pencil, charcoal, ceramic sculpture and acrylic paints. I found that I dislike using color but love sculpting. Then I rediscovered my first love through my husband and his carpentry.
Practicing on his wood scraps for a few years I settled on making hair sticks and playing with different woods then broadened into the more exotic woods.
I hope that you enjoy what I bring out of the wood as much as I have loved bring it to life!

Payment
All items will be shipped after they are paid for, if you need me to set up multiple payments for items over $100 then let me know!
Customs will require a deposit of $20. After we have discused the details of your item I will ask that you purchase a deposit listing, if for any reason I can not create your piece then I will refund your money. If you change your mind and I have spent time and energy planing/creating the piece then the deposit will not be refunded.
Shipping
I try to get all my packages out the next day, if I need to get to the post office it can take up to three days before I can make it to town but most can be sent from my home. I will get the tracking number into etsy as soon as I have made the lable. I do my best to keep shipping costs low but the prices will change as they do at the post office.
Refunds and Exchanges
If I have made a mistake I will gladly create a new stick or do what I can to make it right. Keep in mind I allow myself 1/4 inch wiggle room on sizing and will make a second stick before it is sent out if I go over that limit.
Wood grain and natural charactoristics of the wood are just part of what makes wood so wonderful, I make sure to double check all my pieces to make sure they will glide through hair and are strong enough to handle normal wear.
I know that life happens, please let me know if anything happens to your stick and I will be happy to look at pictures to see about repairing it if you cover the shipping.
