Ordered a 2nd custom drawing from Laura for my bro-in law depicting him in "Game of thrones" as Jon Snow and Ghost as his own dog. Was working with Laura on a previous project I ordered as well and I really really cannot say enough good things about her. My bro-in law flipped the roof when he received the portrait. Will def be dealing with Laura again. Always looking to buy from artists that put as much heart and soul into their work as Laura to get things just right. Thank you so much!!!

Laura is definitely one of thy best artist on Etsy. Ordered a custom portrait for my sister's birthday combining her with "Game of Thrones" theme depicted as Daenerys Targaryen and her dog as one of the dragons. Took a month or so but Laura coordinated with me the entire time to get my vision just right and the end result was Phenomenal and well worth it. Will 100% definitely be ordering from her again.

This was my first purchase on etsy and it was a good decision!!! I bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas and not only did it get here on time but it was exactly what I wanted to a "T"! She was extremely thorough in making sure I got what I wanted. Kept in contact with me to make sure all the details were exact and sent me a few pictures along the way to make sure it was what I wanted! She even had suggestions that I hadn't even thought of that made the picture that much better!! The quality of the picture is superb and you can tell she took her time! Very talented women!!! Thanks so much! It was perfect! My boyfriend LOVES it! It is now hanging in our stairwell for all to see!!

About

Specializing in Portraits of People and Pets Since 2009

Portraiture gives me the opportunity to collaborate with lots of fun people, and to be a part of something much larger than myself. I was never really satisfied with my art until it began to resonate strongly with others. It is my goal to capture lively moments, and to create pieces that are realistic, expressive, and celebratory.

Please see my Shop Policies section for lots of information, including how to Order a Custom Piece. And as always, please feel free to message me here on Etsy with any questions, or to commission a portrait :)

Custom Ordering How-To, and Other Useful Information

I've been doing portraits of people and animals professionally since 2009, but as a hobby since long before then. I will work from your photos to create a beautiful, lively, one-of-a-kind painting or drawing of your loved ones.

Ordering a custom portrait is easy!

Simply message me here on Etsy. We will decide on which photos to use as references, pick out a size for your painting or drawing, decide on color or black and white, and I'll get started!

Keep in mind that I can always use multiple photos should we need to. I can add/subtract backgrounds or details, and I can use multiple photos to draw a picture where every sibling is smiling and looking the same way!

I will send you digital images of the artwork as I am working on it. That way you can see how the piece is progressing and I can make changes as necessary. I never require full payment until everyone is happy with how the piece has turned out :) Time to complete drawings and paintings varies by size and difficulty. Drawings can take between 1-3 weeks, plus shipping. Paintings can take anywhere from 3-12 weeks to allow for drying times, plus shipping. Please message me with any questions regarding the time to complete a particular size and type of portrait.

Payment
A deposit may be required on any drawings or paintings costing $200 or more. Please message me if you'd like to set up a payment plan. Payment in full is required before I ship out any drawing. Sales tax will have to be added to purchases by customers in New York State.
Shipping
I always ship using USPS, unless another method is agreed upon. Delivery time depends on where you live. If you would like to arrange for express/rush shipping, that is possible. Please message me for details.

Drawings:
Drawings will be shipped flat, between two pieces of sturdy foam core board. They will then be sealed in plastic sleeves, and shipped in padded mailers marked "Do Not Bend". They will be shipped either USPS First Class or Priority depending on size, and I will provide you with a tracking number once shipped.

Paintings:
Paintings will be wrapped in either bubble wrap or padded with foam board, depending on the surface, and shipped in boxes. They will be shipped either USPS First Class or Priority depending on size, and I will provide you with a tracking number once shipped.

Greeting Cards:
Greeting cards and envelopes will be sealed in plastic sleeves, and then shipped USPS First Class in larger envelopes. No tracking number will be provided to save on shipping costs, but one can be arranged for an extra fee.

Prints:
Prints are shipped directly from the printer to save on shipping costs. Total printing and shipping time is typically under 2 weeks in the US, but can be longer for international orders.

A Note on International Orders: I make every effort to get your artwork out to you as soon as possible. Shipping times can vary greatly, depending on distance, how long things take to get through customs, etc. If you need something by a certain date, USPS offers guaranteed shipping times to certain countries through their Priority Express International service, but the shipping fees are roughly double what I have listed. Please contact me if you would like to upgrade your shipping.
Refunds and Exchanges
Unfortunately I can not offer returns on custom orders. I make every effort to work hand in hand with clients, sending digital photos as the piece progresses, so that I can make changes as necessary. I do not expect final payment until everyone is happy with how the piece has turned out.
Additional policies and FAQs
All of my portraits are hand-drawn by me using watercolor pencils on archival Strathmore premium recycled acid-free 24lb paper. Watercolor pencils don't smudge, but they will get ruined if they get wet! I always take care to ship my drawings in sealed plastic sleeves in padded mailers.
