I've been a professional seamstress and designer for over 20 years. For the first 6 years of my career, I sewed infant and children's clothing for a local designer to be sold in her lovely retail shop-- putting millions of miles on my sewing machine...

After that store closed, I did a lot of contract sewing /designing on my own. The first holiday market craft show I ever participated in was so successful (and the shoppers so encouraging) it led me to open my first online shop back in 2005. I started out making all kinds of purses: quirky boutique-style purses, embroidered Scripture purses, 'repurposed clothing' handbags, & recycled wrapper purses & accessories.

Jumping ahead to the summer of 2008, my original website's Wrapper Purse Collection attracted the attention of a large company (which upcycles non-recyclable things to make unique products.) Their CEO contacted me out of the blue, and I happily joined their design team a few weeks later. Since I no longer had time to make my own Wrapper Purses for sale, I copyrighted those original patterns to sell in my shop.

Around that same time, I made my very first apron (for my daughter who wanted to be a pastry chef when she grew up....) It was love at first stitch! I truly love designing and sewing every one of them! I love beautiful fabrics, and I so enjoy the creative process of combining fun prints & beautiful colors in each unique apron to create something you won't find anywhere else!!!

Since I added them to my shop, the popularity of my aprons has almost totally eclipsed everything else in my shop. (Except Santa-- the Santa Purse wins the popularity contest, by far!)

Returns and exchange details
1) Please contact me BY EMAIL (Etsy "conversations") should you have any questions, concerns, or problems with your order. I am very happy to work with my customers before, during, and after each unique purchase! (**PLEASE NOTE** I am not always notified when I receive a review-- so that is not the place to try to contact me after a purchase... I cannot guarantee that I will see it to respond in a timely manner.)

2) In compliance with recent EU consumer protection regulations: You must contact me about returns within 14 days after the buyer receives the item. Your return must be received by Laurie within 30 days of the date delivered to you. (The USPS Delivery Confirmation date-- found by using the tracking numbers shown on your Etsy receipt-- will determine the applicable start date of the return option.) YOU must also purchase tracking on your return package to document the date sent by you as well as the date the return is received by me. I recommend also purchasing insurance on the package to protect yourself against loss or damage by the USPS during return shipment.

3) Any item being returned must be in the same 100% BRAND NEW, UNALTERED, & UNUSED condition as it was received-- a condition that allows it to be resold as brand new. Please include the invoice and a note explaining reason for return. Be sure to package the item carefully using protective packing materials-- equivalent to those with which it was sent to you. **PLEASE NOTE: If there are any signs of wear (including but not limited to: food/ dirt/ stains/ make up/ human or pet hair, etc); damage due to improper packaging for return shipment; heavy perfumes, smoke, or other pungent odors-- then the item will NOT be considered acceptable for return, and no refund will be given.** Items which have been used, worn, or washed after receiving do NOT qualify for the Etsy case resolution system, according to Etsy's policies.

4) You will receive a full refund for the price of the item(s) ordered, after your item is accepted for return. Shipping fees are not refundable. (They've been paid to the USPS for the delivery service they have already provided.) The buyer agrees to pay all shipping costs (plus customs and duty charges when applicable) associated with the return of the item.

***NO RETURNS ON PERSONALIZED ITEMS, CUSTOM ORDERS, or SEWING PATTERNS*** (Once a paper pattern has been mailed, or after a digital pattern has been downloaded-- patterns are not eligible for refund or cancellation. Please contact me immediately if you wish to cancel a pattern order-- if it has not been sent yet, I would be happy to cancel.)
INDIANA residents will be charged 7% sales tax.
NEW FOR 2018: Sales tax will be collected by Etsy for all orders from Washington State, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, and Oklahoma-- no matter where the seller is located. This process is handled by Etsy-- sellers do not have the ability to waive payment of this tax.
AUSTRALIAN customers will now be charged 10% GST on all purchases less than $1,000 AUD. The buyer will pay the tax at checkout, and Etsy will be responsible for remitting it to the Australian tax office (ATO).

***PLEASE NOTE*** Etsy IS required to collect and remit VAT at the time of purchase (for buyers in the UK) for DIGITAL ITEM orders made available by instant download. *However* VAT is NOT collected until AFTER arrival in the United Kingdom for physical packages coming through the Post Office. PRIVACY POLICY: I only directly contact my customers about details pertaining to their recent order-- to provide pertinent information regarding order confirmation & estimated shipping dates; to ask for more information regarding a customized order where details were not discussed prior to purchase; to inquire about shipping errors highlighted by the USPS when creating shipping labels; and to notify customers when their order has shipped.

I do not store any personal information for any customer other than for the purposes of processing an order, shipping packages, as well as on a year-end spreadsheet for record keeping purposes (for paying taxes.) Your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason whatsoever, other than for the express purpose of delivering the purchased product or service requested.

I do not contact any customer (or potential customer) for purposes of targeted marketing (newsletters, sales announcements, incentive coupons, etc.) No worries about clogging up your inbox with unsolicited email-- I hate that too!

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that I do not own or control, including Etsy or any third party services accessed through Etsy. Frequently asked questions
Packing slips are included

Packing slips and/or gift receipts are ALWAYS included in shipments. (Purchases marked as a gift do not show prices.) Each apron is neatly wrapped in a plastic bag to protect the fabric. Purses are enclosed in cellophane wrap. (Packing slips are folded inside of the wrapping. Should the shipping materials or address label become damaged during shipment, this gives the Post Office another method of identifying where the package should go.)

Custom and personalized orders

I love working with my customers to create one-of-a-kind items to suit their unique personalities! Feel free to contact me to discuss customizing your order using different fabrics than what is shown in the listing photos.

Custom embroidery is also an option. Contact me for more information, if you want to add a name or monogram. There is a $10/per item fee for this personalization.

Rush Orders

As often as my schedule allows, I try to work with my customers to meet their unique deadlines. Please contact Laurie to see if it is even possible to work your Made-to-Order item into the production schedule BEFORE you place your order.

There is a ($10 per item) fee for the privilege of moving your VIP item(s) ahead of previous orders waiting their turn in my schedule. Read details here:

First Class Mail is the default shipping option in the cart.
*** If you are in a hurry to receive your order, you will want to upgrade your shipping speed in the shopping cart as well:
Priority Mail (usually delivers within 2-3 days)
Priority Mail EXPRESS (delivers within 1-2 days)

I do not keep an inventory. Listing photos show the original sample [purse, apron, or baby blanket] created to take photos for the Etsy shop listing. Actual products may vary slightly in (fabric motif) design placement due to the nature of creating everything individually from scratch. Nothing in my shop is mass produced-- everything is cut & sewn individually after order confirmation. No two items will be completely identical simply due of the nature of handmade creation by human hands. :)

Lost, Stolen, Damaged, or Misdirected Mail

In the rare event that your parcel or envelope is damaged, or is missing in shipping, you will need to fill out an official affidavit at your local Post Office stating the item was damaged or never received- before replacement or refund.

If your package tracking shows "Delivered" although you have not received it, please contact your local postal office. Also check with other household members, neighbors, etc. In many cases, the package or envelope will turn up!

If all attempts fail to locate your package or envelope, please contact me. We will then need to file a claim or 'theft report' with the USPS Postal Inspector which will require that you sign an affidavit regarding the missing package or envelope.

Luckily this rarely happens!
