I've been a professional seamstress since 1995! Where has the time gone? For the first six years of my career, I sewed infant and children's clothing (for a local designer) sold in her lovely retail shop-- putting millions of miles on my sewing machine.

After that store closed, I did a lot of contract sewing /designing on my own. The first holiday-market craft show I ever participated in was so successful (and the shoppers so encouraging) that it led me to open my first online shop back in 2005. I started out making all kinds of purses: quirky boutique-style bags, custom photo purses, embroidered Scripture purses, 'repurposed clothing' handbags, & recycled wrapper purses and accessories.

Jumping ahead to the summer of 2008, my original website's Wrapper Purse Collection attracted the attention of a large company (which upcycles non-recyclable things to make unique products.) Their CEO contacted me out of the blue, and I happily joined their design team a few weeks later. Since I no longer had time to make my own Wrapper Purses for sale, I copyrighted those original patterns to sell in my shop.

Around that same time, I made my very first apron (for my daughter, who wanted to be a pastry chef when she grew up.) I couldn't stop making them. It was love at first stitch! Making aprons had become my new obsession. I absolutely love beautiful fabrics, and I enjoy the creative process of combining fun prints with beautiful colors in each unique apron to create something you won't find anywhere else! Heirloom quality workmanship for maximum customer satisfaction has always been my ultimate goal!

Returns and exchange details
1) Please "message" me on Etsy should you have any questions, concerns, or problems with your order. (**PLEASE NOTE** Etsy does not always send a notification for a review, so that is not a reliable place to try to contact me after purchase because I may not see it right away. Messaging is the quickest way to get my attention.)

2) Buyer must contact me requesting a return within 14 days after the buyer receives the item. Your returned item must arrive within 30 days of the original delivery date. To verify the shipment & delivery of the returned package, please add tracking to the package. (I also recommend purchasing insurance on the shipment to protect yourself against loss or damage by the USPS during return shipment.) Return postage is the responsibility of the buyer.

3) Any returned item must be in the same 100% BRAND NEW, UNALTERED, & UNUSED condition as received. PLEASE NOTE: If there are any signs of wear (food/ dirt/ stains/ make up/ human or pet hair as well as heavy perfumes, smoke, or other pungent odors) or if damage occurs due to improper packaging for return shipment-- then the item may not be considered acceptable for return or the refund may be reduced. PLEASE be advised that used items that have been altered, worn, washed, or discarded after receipt do NOT qualify for the Etsy case resolution system, according to Etsy's policies.

4) You will receive your refund after your item is inspected and deemed acceptable for return. The buyer is responsible for all return shipping costs associated with the return of the item.

Any taxes due will be collected & remitted by Etsy. All financial details are handled exclusively by Etsy-- sellers have no access to your payment information nor do they have the ability to waive payment of any tax or fee associated with your online purchase. ♥ Please note that the estimated shipping date (provided by Laurie in her confirmation message to every buyer) is NOT the date it will be delivered-- your order will ship no later than that estimated date. Delivery speed AFTER that is solely dependent upon the USPS (usually delivered in 3 to 8 business days.)
♥ All packages ship with insurance** for added peace of mind! Lost, stolen, misdirected, or damaged packages will require official documents filed with the USPS before replacement or refund. **USPS requires physical evidence of damage, including packaging-- so keep everything until your claim has been settled in the rare case that your package arrives damaged.

I HAVE MADE THE DECISION TO DISCONTINUE INTERNATIONAL SALES. International sales regulations have become much too complicated & shipping is a nightmare all by itself. I apologize to all of my international customers who may be disappointed by this.
PRIVACY POLICY: I only directly contact my customers about details regarding their recent order-- to provide pertinent information regarding order confirmation & estimated shipping dates; to ask for more information regarding a customized order; to inquire about shipping errors highlighted by the USPS when creating shipping labels; to notify customers when their order has shipped; to answer a question or request.

I do not store any personal information for any customer other than to process an order, ship packages, as well as on a year-end spreadsheet for record-keeping purposes (for paying taxes.) Your information (whether public or private) will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason whatsoever, other than for the express purpose of delivering the purchased product or service requested. I do not contact any customer (or potential customer) for purposes of targeted marketing (newsletters, sales announcements, incentive coupons, etc.) No worries about clogging up your inbox with unsolicited emails from me-- I hate that too! This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that I do not own or control, including Etsy or any third-party services accessed through Etsy. MINDFUL PACKAGING: Can you leave the price off the receipt? What is inside the package?

Yes, you can mark your purchase as a gift in the shopping cart. (Marking an order as a gift removes the prices on the packing slip, similar to a retail store gift receipt.) All packages include packing slips/receipts.

Each apron is neatly wrapped in a plastic bag to protect the fabric. Decorative cellophane wrap protects the Santa Purses. (Packing slips are inside of the wrapping. Should the shipping materials or address label become damaged during shipment, this gives the Post Office another method of identifying where the package should go.)

CUSTOM ORDERS: Can I customize or personalize a product?

Yes! I love working with my customers to create one-of-a-kind items to suit their unique personalities! Feel free to contact me to CUSTOMIZE your order by using different fabrics, trims, etc.

If you want to add embroidery (adding your name or monogram) to an item purchased from my shop--there is a $10/per item fee for this added PERSONALIZATION. Read more here:

HANDMADE: Who makes your products?

Every item in my shop is individually handmade by me (no staff, no outsourcing) in my home in rural North Eastern Indiana. I do not keep an inventory of pre-made items. Listing photos show the original sample [purse, apron, or baby blanket] created to take photographs for the Etsy shop listing. (*First samples are often available as ready to ship items and found here: Subsequent products may vary slightly due to the nature of creating everything individually from scratch. Nothing in my shop is mass-produced-- everything is individually cut & sewn by Laurie after order confirmation. No two items will be completely identical simply due to the nature of handmade creation by human hands. 😀

SHIPPING CONCERNS: What if something happens during shipment? GOOD NEWS! All packages ship with insurance.

(1) If your package is damaged or goes missing en route-- an Official Affidavit will need to be filed by the recipient via the USPS before replacement or refund.

(2) If USPS tracking shows "Delivered" although you have not received it, please contact your local postal office. (GPS may be used to pinpoint the delivery location.) Also check with other household members, neighbors, etc. In many cases, the package will turn up!

(3) If all attempts fail to locate your package, please contact me. The next step is filing an insurance claim, which will require that YOU sign an Affidavit regarding the missing (or damaged*) package before replacement or refund.

*USPS requires evidence of damage (item + package) so keep everything until settled.
