Love this! Purchased for my young niece, but want one for myself now as well. So unique and well made!
Daydreaming Finger Puppets
My shop is named after 'Lazy Animals', which is another name for sloths, animals that spend most of their days sleeping on tree branches, and are very dear to my heart.
My finger puppets are a combination of two of my favorite crafts - knitting and needle-felting, both very slow and meditative activities. I hope that when you look at them, hold them or wear them on your fingers, they'll project some of the energy created by the repetitive work of my own fingers. They hold within them not only the time it took me to create them, but also the thoughts I had or the day-dreams I fell into while knitting and needle-felting them.
The empty space left for your fingers is a physical space - meaning that when you wear the puppet on your finger, you'll give it a unique body - but it's also a symbolic space, ready to be filled with your own thoughts and ideas, and come alive.
Owner, Maker, Designer, Curator
I admire lazy animals for their indifferent uselessness. I make them with wool and needles, and take their pictures before they wake up. They are all day-dreaming, so please be quiet while watching them
Everything in my shop is one of a kind, handmade with love and careful attention to detail. You can find out more about my work in the Profile section of the right menu.
