A great crock for holding flour or sugar. Shipping and packing were both very good.

About

Once upon a time, there was a shop called "A Cozy Corner"...

In 1996, my new husband was offering me the chance to open my own business. So...what to do? I had spent my last ten years as a professional cake decorator, so a bakery was a possible choice. But then he and I walked into an antique mall one day and I was hooked. I had never been an antique hunter before, and knew nothing about it. Where do you go? Where do you find these things? How do you know when you've found something worth money? My next step was 6 months worth of antique shop haunting, and dilligent work with an antique appraisal course. So in June of 1997, I opened my first shop: A Cozy Corner Antiques and Collectibles.
We were a smash hit right out of the gate. There were several other shops in my area, and I quickly grew to know all the proprietors. We worked together efficiently to direct our customers to locate a possible find, even if it wasn't with our own shop. I can honestly say that this was the most gratifying and content time of my entire life.
My shop remained open for 3 years. Then the economy took a dive during the presidential election of 2000. My income stumbled, and it took a few months to recover from the lack of consumer confidence. Just when things were getting back on track, the terrorists flew the airplanes into the Twin Towers. That was it. Everybody stopped shopping for things that weren't essential...that included antiques. Financially I was ruined. My marriage crumbled. I lost my home. I lost my business. I purged everything out of my life that had anything to do with antiques or collectibles. I went minimalist for nearly 10 years. Then I wandered into a garage sale one day, and found two old stoneware mixing bowls for $10 a piece. They were beautiful, and dated from the 1920's. How could anyone want to get rid of these Grand Ladies? I had to have them! I took them home and placed them up on top of my cupboards, admiring their timelessness. I began hunting again. Soon the house (with a new husband) was filling up to the brim with items from the past. I needed an outlet, but didn't have the capital (nor the confidence in consumer spending) to open a store front. That's when I stumbled across ETSY.
I had been hunting for a Steampunk style hat, and found some awesome ones on an unfamiliar site called "ETSY". I browsed around several times before I got the gyst of what ETSY truly was. Then I thought "Hey! I could sell here!" And that, as they say, is that...the end of my story. But only the beginning to a long and happy relationship with so many beautiful, passionate, sophisticated and engaging ETSY customers!

Conceive, believe and receive. Blessings of love, peace and prosperity to all who enter here.
