LeNoirBleu is taking a short break

Note from shop owner Hello! Thank you so much for your interest in shopping for self care, vegan, and Wiccan products through Le Noir Bleu.

Portland Oregon just suffered a massive heat wave with three-days in-a-row record-breaking temperatures. We don’t function so well in heat and sun and summer as it is… But we’ve never closed our shop because of it, yet….

For most of July 2021 we are also moving! We will still be in the Portland area, just a bit further south. We hope to return by the first week of August 2021.

We are currently all caught up on orders, but you can definitely still leave a review for any of the items you have received while the shop is closed. And feel free to message me if you have a question, however I may be pretty slow in replying because we are extremely busy with this big move. Thank you for your patience.

BUT…

*If you need something sooner, a few Portland, Oregon shops carry some of my magical delights: candles, roll-ons, bath salt soaks, balms, soaps, and spritzers. You are welcome to contact them while the LNB Etsy shop is temporarily closed, and they should be willing to ship.

Try:
The Raven’s Wing Magical Co in SE Portland, OR. Open daily 12-6.
Call: 1.503.946.8951

or
Missionary Chocolates in NE Portland, OR. Open 11am-4pm M-F and 12pm-5pm Sundays. Closed Saturdays.
Call: +1 (503) 206-8439

or
A few Made In Oregon shops may still carry some of our line. Call your local store to inquire.

*Thank you! Sorry for any inconvenience. We will return shortly!
Xo.

Botanical sensory delights and vegan wellness wares merging nature and spirit.

Le Noir Bleu Aromatherapy, LLC is small batch whimsical witchery, botanical sensory delights, and vegan wellness wares merging nature and spirit. We feature Portland, Oregon handmade/homegrown Celtic herb wands, loose herb ritual incense, our Full Moon Fragrances line, phthalate-free perfume roll-on oils, 100% essential oil wearable aromatherapy roll-ons, cotton wick/ soy wax candles, essential oil spritzers, essential oil diffusers, natural skin and hair/beard care, therapeutic bath soaks, natural body oils, and more—all made by a Certified Herbalist / PNW Crone with over 22 years making soaps, candles, potions, and magickal elixirs.

Hello, wonderful friends. Thank you for stopping by. All are welcome here.

Featuring mindfully handmade, high-quality, cruelty free, all-vegan products, I create items for bath and body, home, and beauty products as well as magickal ritual tools, based off of my Celtic ancestry. Everything is made in NE Portland, by one woman, so obviously, a female owned business.

Le Noir Bleu began with handmade jewelry in 1995, but shifted to candles, soaps and roll-ons by 1997-1999.

As an organic gardener, I put a lot of focus on the cultivation my own food as well as growing plants indigenous to my Celtic ancestors and their traditional folklore, plant magick, and plant medicines.

Le Noir Bleu is all about honoring nature and plant pride. I lived on the Oregon coast (Depoe Bay) for a few years as a teenager and the sea forever echoes own my soul. I like the idea of bringing the gorgeous outdoors of the Pacific Northwest to indoor spaces. If I had my way, the inside of our home would be covered in dried herbs (it's slowly getting there! hahaha), moss, redwoods, dogwoods, juniper tress, edgeworthia chrysantha, Albizia julibrissin, Hamamelis virginiana, mushrooms, lavender, rosemary, jasmine, and roses and we'd have crows, bumblebees, wolves, foxes, polar bears, black panthers, squirrels, and cottontail bunnies as housemates.

I created Le Noir Bleu because the list of unidentifiable ingredients on so-called "natural" products confused and frightened me. I use the least amount of ingredients possible and everything in my cold-process soaps, herbal bath soaks, face serums, balms, and essential oil spritzers are plant-based. Handmade. Natural. Healthy. I'm a visual learner with a deep appreciation for all things sensory. I want to share my love of nature and it's many treasures by making healthy, memorable, and high quality products.

My paternal grandmother was somewhat of a pioneer, being one of the first female deans at a university in the Midwest. She was also a chemistry professor, so I think mixing potions comes naturally to me. My Grandma Bond was also very creative and often hand knitted, crocheted, and sewed clothes for me as a kid.

Although I have worked with larger corporate chainstore entities, I generally choose to keep my wholesale orders small and work with careful precision and intent. Sometimes it takes me awhile to process orders because I want to do them mindfully and artistically instead of mass produce them. If you prefer the robotic quickness and free shipping of Amazon, I’m not the shop for you, loves. And, please, do keep in mind--especially those of you have never worked in retail or customer service--there is a real live human being with a life and feelings behind every box, correspondence, item, and package (even at Amazon)--often merely making minimum wage (or less, if handmade items), so...be kind.

As a longtime non-meat eater (35+ years), Le Noir Bleu is not just all about plant pride and whimsical Celtic/Norse witchery, but also about honoring the vegan community. Every product by us is vegan—so you never have to worry about cross-contamination or buying items from folks who mock your lifestyle or ideals after they take your money 🙄. I see a lot of companies jumping on veganism as if it’s some sort of "trend” by offering one or two vegan items, but still making the majority of their products with tallow (which is rendered beef or mutton fat), lanolin, squalene, ambergris, carmine, goat’s milk, honey, beeswax, etc. I eat a vegan diet and I keep everything strictly vegan in my shop. There is never any worry here. But I am not here to preach veganism to you (yes, I know, there are plenty of vegans that do)— that is a personal choice and there are more than enough resources online for you to explore that journey for yourself (such as www.onegreenplanet.com). I have never forced my choices or viewpoints on others. This is, however, just to be clear, a safe haven for vegans. But all are welcomed, un-judged. I do not believe any real or productive change comes from bullying--or from forced/ insincere change--so please, you follow your path and allow others to follow theirs.

I begin studying and practicing Buddhism about 35 years ago and around the same time I was introduced to Wicca. So the two have an interesting correlation, personally, for me. I have belonged to several Buddhist groups (mainly Vipassana, a couple Zen) and have attended regular meditation groups and dharma talks, though my Cailleach practice has generally been solitary (with the exception of some long ago, initial experiences).

I’m also I deeply passionate about supporting RAINN (the Rape Abuse and Incest National Network), local no-kill animal shelters, and mental health awareness groups by donating my time, products, and a percentage of proceeds annually. I’ve also donated to the NAACP, Actors and Others for Animals, the National Arbor Day Foundation, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, and in 2021 we are excited to start creating welcome/ care boxes for children and teens in the DHS welfare/ social care system as they look for forever homes.

I’m a bit of a recluse nowadays, unlike when I started my business in 1990s. I’m living with the daily challenges of myriad chronic pain issues and CPTSD. I’m grateful to have a large network of incredibly encouraging, supportive, and unconditionally loving friends and family, especially my beloved husband.

I still work part time as a Literary Editor and Writer and I merge my writing with my aromatherapy/herbalism business whenever I can. I am passionate about both and I believe both hold an important place in society for overall health and wellness.

Some of my favorite things are: gray skies, quantum physics, science, folklore, plant medicine, walking in the woods, sitting in the rain by the river, following the phases of the moon, visiting the coast, watching crow communities, photographing fungi and moss and lichen, reading contemporary poetry and fairytales and magical realism fiction, watching old films and Studio Ghibli, listening to music (especially KishI Bashi, Chelsea Wolfe, The Knife, Edith Piaf, Tom Waits, Belle & Sebastian, Radiohead, Bauhaus, CocoRosie, Billie Holliday, and much more), talking to the neighborhood cats who always seem to follow me on my walks, talking to my plants, and rocking in my maternal grandfather’s vintage rocking chair (who passed away in 2006).

Blessed Be.

Hadet, heks. Mar shin leat, cailleachs.

Returns and exchange details
•Due to the personal nature of beauty and natural products, it's generally not hygienic for us to accept returns. Handmade products take a lot of time and effort and most of my products are made to order. Please keep this in mind. I am not Amazon and I don't have employees or a storefront. I pay for a website and LLC, but I am by no means incorporated. I do not have big back stock nor a warehouse. I am a very tiny operation. If you think you may require refunds or exchanges, I encourage you to order goods from large chains with liberal policies, because they can afford it. If you want something more unique, with a personal touch, I'm your gal! And I work hard to accommodate my customers, as you can generally see from my reviews.

•However, should there ever be a problem with your order, message me immediately and I'm more than happy to work with you! I shop on Etsy myself, and always appreciate good customer service.

•I just request that you let me know of any issues within a 2 days of receiving your items. Please explain any damage issues and send photos of the problem. We'll work something out. Please keep in mind I'm just one lady, not a huge corporation.

Shipping
*Please, it is your responsibility to read these guidelines thoroughly before ordering, so you know exactly what to expect...

Generally expect to pay approximately whatever are the going rates for USPS priority flat rate boxes. Items are always shipped via The United States Postal Service because it comes with insurance and tracking. And I generally get receipts for the boxes I send, so I can prove I dropped them off in person. This way, we are extra covered should the post office make a mistake.

After undercharging for shipping on larger orders one too many times, I sadly must now include extra items fees. This way, when orders can't fit into the small USPS flat rate box (the size I usually use) and I must upgrade to a medium box, I'm covered.
*But should you ever be overcharged for shipping, I gladly reimburse you. It's easier for me to reimburse you or do a partial shipping refund than for you to have to pay additional shipping fees after you place your order. I will notice any overcharges before I ship and will address the refund then, but feel free to message me if you're worried. I would be too! Shipping is expensive sometimes, and I do my best to keep it as low as I can, but still protect both myself and you, the buyer.

*I ask for 3-5 business days to ship your items out, although I generally average 2-3 (and I've often been known to ship item out in under 24 hours, but do not expect this). It just depends on the day of the week and how many orders are ahead of yours.
*REALIZE THIS 3-5 BUSINESS DAYS ARE HOW LONG IT TAKES ME TO GET YOUR ORDER TO THE POST OFFICE, NOT HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE TO RECEIVE YOUR ORDER AFTER YOU PAY FOR IT. I work hard to turnaround orders as quickly as I can (as mentioned above), but once they are taken to the post office, they have 2-3 BUSINESS days to get the package to you.
*I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DELAYS DUE TO HOLIDAYS OR WEATHER OR POSTAL EQUiPIMENT FAILURE, ETC! This is exactly why I only send items USPS Priority Mail, so protect both YOU and ME and help to ensure items arrive safe and in a timely manner.

*I DO NOT guarantee delivery on specific days, such as holidays (like exactly ON Valentine's Day or right ON Mother's Day, etc. because even the post office makes mistakes and as mentioned before, no one can 100% predict weather and unforeseen circumstances. Place your orders in plenty of time to be packed and delivered on time, do not wait until the last minute unless you are willing to risk later delivery. If being sent to someone other than yourself, it's up to you to ask them to holds unto it until the birthday, holiday, anniversary, etc. But I can mark the outside of the box of you as well, if you like. Just ask me.

Sorry for the lengthy guidelines, but some people need and want all of the precise details. This protects both you and me. Thank you for your time.
Additional policies and FAQs
Please contact me if you own a shop and want wholesale.

I don't do consignment.

I'm happy to take requests for custom orders, if I have the time, just let me know what you're interested in. But custom orders must be paid in advance and there are not cancels allowed. Please be fair and be certain of what you want. I've completed numerous custom designs for weddings, anniversaries, and birthdays. I have had many happy customers and I want to keep it this way. Thank you for understanding,

Frequently asked questions
Wholesale availability

Yes! I love doing wholesale. Just contact me for details. Originally, all wholesale was done via www.lenoirbleu.com, but our site is on hiatus. Please email or message us for wholesale information. Thanks!

Gift wrapping and packaging

If you require gift wrapping, send me a message and we can discuss it. Some of my products already come in cute boxes, but if you want more, let me know.

*Important Shipping Info!

Overcharges are refunded.

Due the diversity in the size of my various products, different sized boxes may be needed, depending on how much you order.

I always send USPS priority flat rate (which comes with tracking and insurance), and most orders fit in small or medium box, depending on what you order and how much.

The USPS typically changes the cost of these boxes annually, so please check their website for the current going rate.

I DO NOT profit from shipping! I charge you whatever the USPS charges me (and occasionally a very small fee for bubble wrap or padding), sometimes even slightly less. Fair and square.
