There is nothing quite as rewarding then enjoying time with your flock member outside, in the sunshine, where they should be. It is a simple pleasure few can imagine, allowing your flock to experience nature. Whether it is a simple stroll around the yard, a walk to the beach, or simply including your flock member in the festivities, when a guest is over. My name is Mary, I am a retired Respiratory Therapist from the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, and wife to a retired Fire Captain from Prince Georges County MD, currently living on a quiet barrier Island in Melbourne Beach Florida, but transplanted from the country side of Clarksville Maryland. Clarksville is where our family began, two boys, Brian and Daniel, and two parrots, Kalani and Miguel. 

Our life was thrown a curve ball one day, in our back yard, under our deck, while Kirk was sitting on our rope porch swing. Kalani, while climbing around on Kirk’s shoulder (things we bird owners do all to often), was knocked off by a Red Tailed Hawk. Kirk gave chase across the back yard, to the fence line, Kalani bit the hawk and It let her go, she fell to the ground. Immediately, Kirk hovered over her, as the hawk swooped down for another try. Thankfully for her, she was fine, not a single puncture wound. Never again, would our flock go outside without an edge on their security, for if it were Miguel, my small Yellow Collared Macaw, he definitely would have had a worse fate. I couldn’t imagine…

Leathers4Feathers was born…

What I create here is much more than a simple harness, it is a comfort, a security, and a style, for owner and flock member, unlike any other on the market. It is as easy to use as 1-2-3, over the head or snap on the back, and two clips on either side. A lifestyle that can navigate and change your bird’s existence in the pet industry, they have an option to safely attend outings with their flock family, safely, securely and in a style like no other. A subtle reminder that you are in control of your bird’s own safety.

When a day is seemingly monotonous, take some time to harness your beauty and get out and enjoy a walk in the sun, and reflect on how this single action changes your pet bird’s look on life. My leather bird harnesses have changed not only my life, but the lives of thousands, over the past 12 years This is my positive footprint.
