A Constantly Evolving Artist

I started creating paper jewelry years ago to keep from having to throw away scraps of fine art paper and mat board. Then I inherited my Grandmother's button jar, and buttons worked their way into more jewelry. Ditto with vintage and costume jewelry. Then, because I couldn't always find just the right bead, I started creating my own with clay. So these days my jewelry could be any combination of paper, buttons, upcycled jewelry, clay and other doo dads.

When I make jewelry, it's like I'm creating little individual pieces of art. Each paper or clay component is cut or shaped by me, painted by me and then sealed and finished by me. Then I combine this artwork with diverse materials including metal, wood, glass and crystal beads. I create each piece of jewelry myself with an eye for color, shape and texture. Each piece is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece of art.

I've always been an artist. A few years ago I started trying to find creative ways to use left over watercolor paper and mat board - which led to my paper jewelry and then button jewelry, then clay jewelry.
