About

inspired eclectically.

As a painter I began my craft in 2007; I taught myself different techniques and started off using acrylics. After a semester at Texas Tech I fell in love with the vibrancy and realism that oil paints allow. It was then that I understood how far my passion for painting goes and my love for the challenge a blank canvas represents.

I was introduced to pottery in 2008; my senior year of high school was covered in mud and awkward looking handmade cups that now live in my mother’s cabinet. The introduction to the potter’s wheel was enough to blind me with ambition and dreams of owning my own wheel and kiln. In 2011 I was lucky enough to receive both of those along with everything else a potter could possibly need to get started in their own clay studio. I have been throwing ever since.

For all inquiries about my products and pieces please navigate to my shop policies prior to purchasing so there are no surprises after check out. All of my prices are non-negotiable. As all of my items are handmade and are not created by mass manufacturing I charge the prices I see fit to provide for time, labor and materials.
Custom orders require, at minimum, half of the purchase price up front to cover materials.
Shipping
I do not offer free shipping nor will shipping prices be negotiated. I price my items as fair as I see fit to cover packing materials and shipping rates. A lot of the prices are based off of previous shipments. If changes are needed I will make them accordingly. Every piece will be insured up to the price paid. All medium pots that will fit will be shipped in a Priority Flat Rate Box and marked as fragile. On the USPS website there is a section that states a "Fragile Fee" of $10.35; I have yet to encounter this as the site reads the fee is charged to have the Post Office place a fragile sticker on the package and provide 'better care in shipping than usual. If you would prefer this method of shipping please let me know as it will be tacked onto the shipping amount.
Refunds and Exchanges
Returns & Refunds for Pottery and Paintings with conditions:
1) The item(s) are returned in the same condition they were sent out in.
2) The item(s) are packaged well and arrive undamaged.
3) If the items are shipped back to the studio and arrive damaged a refund will not be issued.
4) If items shipped from the studio arrive damaged or broken and you wish for Leigh Art to handle the insurance claim with USPS, the damaged items and their original packing must be mailed back to the studio. The shipping costs are up to the customer and will not be reimbursed by the studio.
5) USPS has allowed buyers to file insurance claims on broken or damaged goods; if you decide to file a claim you will need the broken items in the original packaging in order to begin a claim. No refund will be issued by the studio.

Returns & Refunds for Camera Straps and Scarves:
1) The item(s) are returned in the same condition they were sent out in.
2) The item(s) are packaged well and arrive undamaged.
3) If the items are shipped back and arrive damaged, smelling of perfume or bodily odor a refund will not be issued.
4) The tags must still be on the strap or scarf when returned.
5) The rings for easy attachment that are sent with the straps must be included in the return package. If rings are missing no refund will be issued.
6) If items shipped from the studio arrive damaged or broken and you wish for Leigh Art to handle the insurance claim with USPS, the damaged items and their original packing must be mailed back to the studio. The shipping costs are up to the customer and will not be reimbursed by the studio.
7) USPS has allowed buyers to file insurance claims on broken or damaged goods; if you decide to file a claim you will need the broken items in the original packaging in order to begin a claim. No refund will be issued by the studio.

In the event that a refund is issued, the amount refunded will be the purchase price of the item or items damaged or broken. Taxes and shipping costs will not be included in the reimbursement.

Photos of the damaged items are required along with photos of the packaging - in most cases if an item arrives damaged the packaging will show signs of negligence. Please contact me immediately upon the discovery of the damaged goods.

Returns and refunds must be submitted within 10 days of purchase - it is up to the buyer to give the studio notice of your intent to return as we turn profit around for materials quickly. If a return or refund request is submitted after the 10 day period, no returns will be accepted and no refunds will be issued - no exceptions.
Additional policies and FAQs
As a Texas seller I am required to charge Sales Tax of 8.25% to all sales that are shipped in the state of Texas. This is non-negotiable.

I SHIP OUT OF THE UNITED STATES!
If you are a current resident from another country, ANY COUNTRY, and you find something in my shop that you love please send me a message through Etsy. In the message please include your address and item(s) you are interested in purchasing. I know shipping costs are high but I'll do some research if I know most of the details and can get you a few different estimates that will get the piece to you in the best condition. After I work the figures I'll send you another message and if it's agreed upon I will re-post the item(s) and the name will be marked as "Reserved for [your name here]". Then you may purchase and pay all at once.

PURCHASING MULTIPLE ITEMS IN ONE TRANSACTION FROM MY SHOP:
The same applies for this as it does for international shipping. If you are wishing to purchase more than one item from my shop in a single transaction, please message me. The shipping may be less than it would be if you purchased them individually. I will be more than happy to get estimates for shipping costs for you.

Reserve Policy: I will reserve items for a total of 24 hours. If by the end of those 24 hours the transaction has not taken place I will re-list the piece as unreserved.

As of August 2015 all custom pottery orders will require a four piece minimum order.

You wouldn't negotiate pricing at Nordstrom so don't expect to negotiate prices with me.
