This planet is my workshop.

While growing up in Banff Alberta, I first picked up my mother's box camera when I was in grade seven. Soon after I built a darkroom in the basement with cardboard box walls, made a red safelight, and started developing my own film from the Kodak Brownie. Verichrome film could be developed under a red light, and it fascinated me to see the latent image reveal itself as I pulled the roll of film back and forth through the developer under the red glow.

I read everything I could find about photography in the school library, and in the photo magazines. I soon graduated to a 35mm camera, a Paxette, with money I earned every day after school setting pins in a bowling alley. After the family moved to Vancouver in 1954 I bought a new pentax and a used Busch Pressman 2x3 with a 620 roll back. I started my own business taking pictures in two Chinatown venues, a nightclub, the Kublai Khan, and a late night restaurant, the WK Gardens. This work led to some weddings, portraits, and sales to a stock agency and postcard publisher. I also made prints for two other photography studios after school.

A photographer friend of the family talked me out of making photography my career, so I went through UBC for an engineering degree in my other obsession, electronics. I have spent 50 exciting years in new product development, but kept up the camera work along the way.

Long story short . . . . I am retired from engineering and now live in Brooklyn with Clarice next to a great camera subject, New York City. I sell my work on the streets of New York, from this Etsy shop, flea markets and fairs.

Hope you like my work . . . . .

My Customers say . . . . .

I love your work , I think there is a strong sensitivity in your photos, they really inspire me. . . . . Laura, France

Leo...the picture arrived in great shape. It's way more dynamic in person than on the screen!  I really love it!  Thanks . . . . . Rita, New Jersey

Good day Leo. With great pleasure I recall our meeting under the Brooklyn Bridge and of those beautiful magnets, which you do by investing in them your best and soul. Huge greetings from Moscow. . . . . Alex & Victoria

This is Eric Benjamin Gordon, the man with long hair who purchased a 2-dollar magnet and had a sociopolitical conversation with you yesterday on the Brooklyn Bridge.  It was great to meet you.  If I had more money, I would've bought something bigger.  I still may if I pass your kiosk again.  (Or, I could just order it through the mail.)

Lovely scene. I can't wait to get a good frame for this. Something to look at to daydream of somewhere beautiful. Thank you!!! Shannon, Oregon USA

Well.........I think it might be thought that I am a relative, another brilliant review from me, but all true, a lovely picture, and extremely caring people to deal with.....thank you . . . . xx Mary, Dorset UK

Very easy to hang . . . . the instructions were helpful. If anyone has ever had to deal with a FatHead decal, the process is very similar. This looks great in my home. . . . . Drew NYC

Really beautiful poster. Had some problems with application but got really incredible customer service. Would by again in a heartbeat. . . . . . Andrew, California

So happy with this print and the customer service, I bought a few in person while on holiday in NYC and felt the need to add to the collection as they are such quality prints. Will definitely be buying more in future. . . . . Caroline, UK

Love it. It reminds me of my childhood holidays. Quick shipping and great value. . . . . . .Leeann, UK

Wonderful product and if you looking for anything else Leo is sooo helpful I would recommend him for any decal projects. . . . . . Iris, New Jersey
