We purchased this as a gift for our daughter and she loves it. The style is rich and the colors grab you. It even includes a card with the story of this rescue pup, Phoebe. The service was great, everything arrived on-time and in great condition. I highly recommend LesleeOrtegaArt on Etsy!

About

My Act III

Hello! It's such a joy to have art be my business after a career in the tech industry.

In my first painting series, Modern Dog Stories, I am thrilled to be combining my love of color, painting, writing and dogs in a heartfelt, happy and fun collection.

My journey to Modern Dog: I grew up in Portland, Oregon where I graduated with a BS in Business Administration. After I flipped the tassel from one side to another, I got in my convertible VW and drove to sunny California, having grown weary of the gray and wet Pacific Northwest. For 17 years I worked in the tech industry, mostly for Hewlett Packard, and then moved on to the fledgling Word-of-Mouth Marketing world. This role included immersion in advertising, social media and branding strategies, working with companies in the Fortune 1000. Somewhere in there I got married and had three children.

One day I looked in the mirror and wondered when I'd get around to pursuing my true passion of becoming an artist and designer? Energized by this realization, I started studies at Mission Renaissance Fine Art Studio. This three year process provided me with a thorough grounding in fine art skills. I also took classes at the Interior Designer’s Institute + UCLA Extension.

When an unexpected move from Southern California to Texas happened in 2015, I earnestly began to pursue my goal of making art my business. I enjoy sharing my creative talents with others through volunteer work at Dwell with Dignity (www.dwellwithdignity.org) and The Samaritan Inn Homeless Shelter (www.thesamaritaninn.org)

Come along on my journey...!
