Announcement   I create handmade, high end, heirloom-quality cross stitched and knitted pieces, as well as more functional everyday items, such as keychains, bookmarks, and hand-knitted scarves and shawls. My works feature bold colors and sparkling embellishments - all distinctive, eye-catching, and meticulously crafted.

I make all of my pieces myself. If you are interested in a custom order or if you have a pattern in mind (either cross-stitched, embroidered, or knit), please send me a message for pricing and ordering information. I can create a custom piece for almost any occasion!

Less bitching, more stitching - because cross stitch makes you happy! :)

Hi Erin, nThank you for the fabulous needlework gift you made for my daughter's veterinary school graduation. My daughter was thrilled by her gift. You spent a lot of time going back and forth on e-mails with me, making sure that the gift would be exactly what I wanted for a most special occasion. The pride that you take in your work is evident in the finished product, right down to proper framing of the piece to showcase the details of your skilled artwork. It was such a surprise to see the personal note that you had included with the gift, and the surprise extra gift of the lovely embroidered keychain. It has been a delight working with you. If someone were to ask me to rate your work, I would give you an outstanding recommendation. n Thank you so much, n Arlene Gutwillig

About

Saving the world - one stitch at a time!

I learned how to cross stitch from my great-grandmother when I was about ten years old. Since then, I have branched out into embroidery and knitting, although cross stitching is still my favorite textile art. I enjoy stitching colorful patterns with gorgeous details, and I have also started to design my own patterns. If you are too busy to stitch something for yourself or a friend, I can stitch commissioned pieces, too!

When I am not sewing or knitting, I work as a veterinary postdoctoral fellow at a research university in the Boston area. I am in my third year of a PhD program studying genetic mutations in liver and colon cancer. I am definitely a nerd with a soft spot for animals, which helps to explain the inspiration behind some of the pieces in my shop.

All of my pieces are created in my smoke-free, pet-friendly home - but I keep my ginger cat, Orange "Julius" Caesar, away from my stitching.

Thank you for checking out my "About" page - I hope you find something wonderful in my shop!
