Benvenuti a Less Than Perfect Vintage, dove disponiamo di vintage leggermente difettosi a una frazione dei prezzi vintage normali!
Il nostro concetto di negozio è nato quando ci siamo resi conto che non avremmo mai avuto il tempo di riparare tutto il vintage che dobbiamo condividere e abbiamo iniziato a tirare fuori quelle che chiamiamo "Project Boxes" e "The Back of the Rack" qui su il nostro studio d'epoca. Fondamentalmente, si tratta di vintage accumulati che vanno dall'era vittoriana in avanti che necessitano di attenzione di un tipo o dell'altro.
Alcuni hanno problemi piuttosto minori, come alcune cuciture deformate, l'interno del colletto che si è leggermente scurito o un leggero pilling su un maglione di cashmere.
Alcuni pezzi presentano macchie, altri sono sbiaditi, altri ancora hanno colori sbiaditi. Abbiamo un cappotto con la fodera ossidata. Ci sono cappelli a cui mancano gli strass (ci occupiamo anche di gioielli e accessori) e un favoloso abito in crêpe con perline degli anni '30 da femme fatale ha fori di tarma nell'orlo a coda di pesce in picchiata.

Sappiamo assolutamente che non finiremo mai tutti questi progetti. E ancora PIÙ assolutamente ci ucciderebbe buttare queste bellezze nella discarica. COSÌ
abbiamo deciso di offrirli ad altri qui che sono più intelligenti, più concentrati, più furbi!
Forse qualcuno si prenderà il tempo per sedersi e ricamare le pince sul vestito turchese. Forse qualcun altro può recuperare lo straordinario vestito con stampa hawaiana in rayon a figura intera che è macchiato e strappato, ma ha ancora MOLTO tessuto che forse potrebbe essere riutilizzato in un grazioso prendisole. PENSAVO che l'avrei fatto; Semplicemente non l'ho fatto. Ancora.
Ora, non fraintenderci, crediamo TOTALMENTE nella conservazione degli abiti e degli accessori vintage e alcune di queste offerte saranno eccellenti per lo studio, o l'ispirazione per un nuovo design o per l'esposizione. Tuttavia, sappiamo anche che ci sono alcuni pezzi che vanno oltre questi usi, quindi se potessero essere amati, salvati o riciclati da qualcuno più creativo e motivato di noi, pensiamo che sarebbe meraviglioso.
Valuteremo la maggior parte dell'inventario per coprire i nostri costi iniziali; altri pezzi hanno un valore più intrinseco o semplicemente potrebbero interessarci più profondamente, quindi chiederemo un po' di più per alcuni articoli. Se desideri fare un'offerta per qualcosa per il quale ritieni che il prezzo sia troppo alto, contattaci e potremo procedere da lì.
Se sei pratico con ago e filo o tendi a trarre ispirazione divina da un favoloso pezzo di tessuto vintage, questo potrebbe essere il posto giusto per te!

Anche il danno causato dall'acqua è perfetto (andrò allo SteamCon nei panni di un'ondina steampunk - e come creatura acquatica, il danno causato dall'acqua sarebbe perfettamente naturale). Welcome to Less Than Perfect Vintage where we have slightly flawed vintage at a fraction of regular vintage prices!
Our shop concept came about as we realized we'll never have time to mend all of the vintage we have to share as we started to pull out what we refer to as our "Project Boxes" and "The Back of the Rack" here at our vintage studio. Basically, it's accumulated vintage ranging from the Victorian era forward that needs attention of one sort or another.
Some have pretty minor problems like a few strained seams, inner collars that have darkened a bit, or a whisper of pilling on a cashmere sweater.
Some pieces have spots, others have faded, others have colors that have run. We have a coat with an oxidized lining. There are hats that are missing rhinestones (we handle jewelry and accessories, too) and one fabulous 1930s femme fatale beaded crepe gown has moth holes in its swooping fishtail hem.

We absolutely KNOW that we will never finish all these projects. And even MORE absolutely it would kill us to tote these beauties to the landfill. So
we've decided to offer them to others here who are more clever, more focused, more crafty!
Perhaps someone will take the time to sit down and re-stitch the darts on the turquoise dress. Maybe someone else can salvage the amazing full-length rayon Hawaiian print dress that is stained and torn, but still has a LOT of fabric that could perhaps be re-purposed into a cute little sundress. I THOUGHT that I would; I just haven't done it. yet.
Now don't get us wrong, we FULLY believe in the preservation of vintage clothing and accessories, and some of these offerings will be excellent for study, or inspiration for new design, or for display. However, we also know there are a few pieces that are beyond those uses, so if they can be loved, saved or up-cycled by someone more creative and motivated than us, we think that would be wonderful.
We will price most inventory to cover our initial costs; other pieces have more intrinsic value, or just might appeal to us more deeply, so we'll ask a bit more for some items. If you would like to make an offer on something that you feel we may have priced too high, please contact us and we can go from there.
If you're handy with a needle and thread, or tend to get divine inspiration from a fabulous piece of vintage fabric, this just may be the place for you!
