I am so happy you’re here!

Hey there! Thank you for visiting my shop.

I'm excited for the opportunity to help you bring your vision or thoughtful idea to life, have some fun, and create meaningful artwork just for you. I believe in thoughtfulness and personalized touches especially when it comes to event-hosting, gift-giving, and mail-sending. The goal of my services/products to help people feel original, inspired, thoughtful and to have a lot of fun during the process! Everything you see in the shop is hand-calligraphed, hand-lettered, hand-drawn, and packaged by me.

When I am not doing calligraphy (which is rare), I am visiting a new brewery or tasting new beers at home with my husband Sean, hiking, reading/going to the library, creating travel itineraries for upcoming trips, crafting homemade cards, online shopping, or frequenting craft stores for supplies.

Thank you so much in advance for your support and for shopping small!

Frequently asked questions
I don't see what I'm looking for in your shop. Do you accept completely custom orders?

I love custom orders! If you cannot find what you are looking for in my shop, message me via Etsy or email me at hello [at] letterbcalligraphy [dot] com.

What if I notice errors or need changes?

You are responsible for providing Letter B Calligraphy and Design with correct and accurate information. I will rely solely on the information provided by you to complete the services. It is within my sole discretion as to whether I correct an error, and/or whether I do so for an additional charge.

I recommend that you double check any text or information you send when submitting your order to prevent any errors or extra rounds of revision.

What is the difference between your modern monoline option and your modern calligraphy option?

My modern monoline style is done using a gel pen and the letters are all the same stroke weight. In other words, there are no variations from upstrokes or downstrokes. This is my more affordable offering for print items and services. My modern calligraphy style is done using a nib and ink (otherwise known as pointed pen), a paint brush, or a brush pen and there are variations in stroke weight, which means letters have thin upstrokes and thick downstrokes. The different tools and materials for modern calligraphy all achieve different effects.

For digital designs and downloads, I use digital pens to create similar effects for each style; there is no difference in cost for digital designs.

What is the process for booking large envelope addressing, place cards or escort cards orders?

A nonrefundable retainer consisting of 50% of the total balance is due upon booking and contract signature before services commence. Large envelope, place card/escort card orders placed within two weeks or less will incur a rush fee.

The remaining balance, plus taxes and shipping costs if applicable, is due before delivery of the completed services. The balance may be adjusted to reflect any changes to the services, scope of work, and/or modifications of the contract and/or proposal. Any adjustments to the balance will be reflected in the second and final payment. Final payment is due upon receiving the final listing.

Who provides the envelopes, place cards, and/or escort cards?

If you provide the materials, you will need to pay the costs associated with shipping them to me. *Note: Some envelopes and cardstock do not work well with calligraphy inks, so if you do not already have them, I recommend asking your stationer if the envelopes or cardstock can handle calligraphy ink. You will need to provide 20% more materials than total guest count. This is an industry standard. When using real ink, ink splatters or smudges are possible. The extra quantity will allow for any ink mistakes or possible last-minute additions. If you'd like me to provide the materials, please indicate color choice and size. I will add 20% more to the order and will add the cost of these materials to your final cost.

What is the difference between escort cards and place cards?

Both escort cards and place cards inform guests where they will be seated. Escort cards are typically less formal, include guest name and table indicator, and direct guests to a specific table. Place cards are more formal, include guest name, and direct guests to a specific seat at a table. If you would prefer to not use escort cards, you could also consider a seating chart. Also, you don’t have to do place cards unless your venue requires them. Letter B Calligraphy and Design offers all of these items and services.

Please note:

Shop policies, prices, and product availability are subject to change at any time.

How should I format my guest address list for envelope addressing, or large placecards/escort cards orders?

If you book Letter B Calligraphy and Design, you will receive a guide on how to submit your guest address list, which includes tips and requirements for submitting a guest list. If you have any questions, please let me know before you submit your list.

For envelope addressing, I do not accept guest address lists in any other format other than options provided in this guide. *Note: Letter B Calligraphy and Design reserves the right to move information down to next lines due to spacing concerns. You will not be billed for additional lines.

What if I find an error in my envelope/place card/escort card order or have additional guests I need to add to my list?

Please review your order within 2 days of receiving it to confirm there are no errors. If there are any errors or additions, please email Letter B Calligraphy and Design a complete list of corrections within 2 days of receiving the order, and specify if any errors were caused by the calligrapher. Any errors caused by calligrapher will be free of charge. If errors were caused by client, one round of edits/additions is included. There is a $25 charge for any additional changes needed.

Letter B Calligraphy and Design will bill the client for any late additions or client errors.

*Note: Calligraphy/hand-lettering is an art form done by hand, and there may be slight variations in spacing, sizing, margins, color, etc.

What lettering/calligraphy styles do you offer?

I offer many different styles to achieve your overall vision! Reference Letter B Calligraphy and Design’s website gallery or Instagram @letterbcalligraphy for ideas. If you decide you would like to work with me, I can also help you choose the best style to complement your event or project.

Please note: if you send me another artist's work as inspiration, while I may use it as a reference for your overall vision, I will never copy their work and will always letter/calligraphy in my own style.
