My life motto: Nothing worth doing is every easy.

Hello and thanks or stopping by. My name is Kelli and I live in sunny St. Petersburg, Fl with my husband, our son Nicholas, and our two pups, Maggie and Charlie. I’ve been fortunate enough to call Florida home since I was 9, when my Mom moved my sisters and I down here from a small town in Indiana. I have been an aspiring artist since I was a little girl. I grew up drawing animals and landscapes and I still have my very first sketchbook!

I grew up wanting to be a Veterinarian and after some not-so-great experiences, decided to study Graphic Design instead. Turns out, that was a great choice. I have enjoyed creating brands, websites, and marketing materials for companies all over the world, however, a piece of me always felt something was missing.

I was missing the hands-on part of designing. I missed my paints, pens, and the feel of paper. After college, I started painting landscapes again and really enjoyed it. I discovered hand-lettering a few years ago and have been hooked ever since. I really enjoy sharing my love for the sand, the sea, and an island breeze. I hope my art inspires the soul and helps people live a life they truly want and love. I’ve been doing my best to live a simple, nature-guided life, one that fills my soul, rather than drains it, because life is short and we don’t know how long we have on this beautiful Earth.

In 2004, at the young of 19, I lost my Mom, Fran, to a 3-month battle with lung cancer. By the time the doctors found it, it was already Stage 4 and her survival rate was low. After some rounds of chemo and radiation, she passed peacefully on May 16, 2004 at the age of 48.

My Mom’s happy place was the beach. My sisters and I went with her every Sunday to Madeira Beach. We’d play in the sand and the waves while she would sit in her colorful beach chair reading one of her many favorite books. The beach restored her tired soul. I’m so thankful she showed me the value of the beach, the sun, and the sandy waves. The water had now become my happy place. When I start to feel like life is getting the best of me, I head to the beach for a morning run, or out on the boat with my boys and the pups.

My Mom was my rock and taught me so many valuable lessons in life. And her death continues to teach me that life is ever fleeting and to make the most of it while I still can. Ever since she passed, I’ve been searching for a way to keep her spirit alive and honor her. I started Letters from Fran as a way to do just that. I want to share the lessons she’s taught me, I want her story to inspire people all over the world, and I want YOU to live the best life you can while you are still here. These are the good days my friends, let’s make the most of them.

Thank you for taking time to read about my story. If you feel inspired, and would like to put a piece of my art in your home, please use offer code FAV15 to get 15% off your order! Stay inspired friends.
