Herbal Creations For Healthy Living! Check back here often for updated products, my inventory is currently being replenished and I have some new recipes in the works. Ask me about how large custom orders get a 10% discount!
I have been studying herbalism for about 5 years now. At first I only studied it as a way to benefit myself and live a healthier life. I learned some recipes and made a few things until about a year ago when one of my friends tried something I made. She loved it so much and recommended that I sell it. I came up with some more recipes and experimented with some things until I came up with a decent stock of herbal goodies. For the past year I've just been selling them personally as well as at a local store here in Stevens Point but I wanted a way to reach people that lived farther away and Etsy was the answer!

What is a tincture?
A tincture is an extract of an herb into a base liquid such as alcohol. The alcohol extracts all of the beneficial constituents out of the herb creating a potent herbal supplement. The benefit of using a high proof alcohol is the fact that it acts as a preservative allowing the tincture to last indefinitely.
How is it done?
I use a "long-steep method" in which I soak the herbs in 80-100 proof vodka for 6 or more weeks until the tincture is potent enough. I then strain it and bottle the resulting tincture.
What is a salve?
A salve is generally an oil and wax based ointment that can be infused with herbs to use topically on the skin for various reasons.
How are the salves/lip balms made?
First I infuse extra virgin olive oil with various herbs using a "slow-heating-method" which involves steeping the herbs in the warmed oil for at least 5 to 6 hours, sometimes 24+ hours to extract all of the constituents out of the herbs and into the oil. The infused oil is then blended with essential oils, organic beeswax, and vitamin E oil (to act as a preservative) and left to harden creating a beautiful smelling salve or lip balm that helps treat numerous skin conditions and wounds.
Can I make a custom order?
I am more than willing to work with people to make custom large orders. Large orders of tinctures will take about 7-8 weeks to complete. That includes the 6 weeks to extract the herbs in alcohol and an extra week for packaging and shipping. Large orders for lip balms, salves, and lotions would take about 2-3 weeks depending on whether or not I have enough herbs in stock. Large orders also qualify for a 10% discount.
Custom recipes are possible but a little more limited and possibly more expensive if it involves me purchasing an herb I don't typically have in stock.
