Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how and when I collect, use, and share personal information when you purchase an item from Life Lately Papers, contact me, or otherwise use my services through Etsy.com and its related services.
This Privacy Policy applies to the personal information I process as the seller. It does not apply to the practices of third parties that I do not own or control, including Etsy. For information about how Etsy collects and processes your personal information, please refer to Etsy’s own Privacy Policy.
Information I Collect
To fulfil your order, I receive certain information from Etsy, such as your name, email address, postal address, order details and information relating to your transaction.
I do not receive your full credit card, bank account or other secure payment details. Payments are processed by Etsy and its payment service providers.
You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information when you contact me, for example when requesting a personalised or custom item.
Why I Need Your Information and How I Use It
I collect, use and share your personal information only where I have a lawful basis to do so. These bases may include:
- Performance of a contract: to process and fulfil your order, communicate with you about your purchase, provide customer support, manage returns or refunds, and resolve disputes.
- Legal obligations: where necessary to comply with applicable tax, accounting or other legal requirements.
- Consent: where you have specifically consented to a particular use of your information, such as subscribing to marketing communications. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests: where necessary to operate and improve my business, prevent fraud, protect my legal rights and comply with Etsy’s Seller Policy and Terms of Use, provided these interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
I will not use personal information obtained through Etsy to send you marketing communications unless you have separately and expressly consented to receive them.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
I share personal information only where reasonably necessary to operate my shop, fulfil your order or comply with legal obligations.
This may include:
- Etsy: as necessary to provide my services and comply with Etsy’s Seller Policy, Terms of Use and other applicable policies.
- Delivery and postal providers: where your name and postal address are required to deliver your order.
- Service providers: where I use trusted third parties to support the operation of my business and they require limited personal information to perform those services.
- Professional advisers or authorities: such as accountants, tax authorities, regulators or legal advisers where required by law or reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
- Business transfers: if my business is sold, transferred or reorganised, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction where permitted by law.
I may also collect, retain, use or disclose information where I reasonably believe this is necessary to comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, prevent fraud or illegal activity, enforce agreements, or protect the rights and safety of my customers or business.
Data Retention
I retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.
Certain order and transaction information may form part of my business and tax administration. Where Dutch law requires these records to be retained, I generally keep the relevant information for 7 years.
Other personal information, such as customer correspondence that is not required for tax or legal purposes, will be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide customer service, resolve disputes or protect my legitimate interests.
International Transfers
Some of the third-party services used by Etsy or by my business may process personal information outside the European Economic Area.
Where I am responsible for transferring personal information outside the EEA, I will only do so where an appropriate legal mechanism is available under applicable data protection law, such as an adequacy decision, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where applicable, or appropriate contractual safeguards.

Your Rights
If the GDPR or other applicable data protection legislation applies to you, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including:
- Access: the right to request information about the personal data I hold about you and receive a copy of that information.
- Rectification: the right to ask me to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
- Erasure: the right to ask me to delete your personal information in certain circumstances.
- Restriction: the right to request that I restrict how I process your personal information in certain circumstances.
- Objection: the right to object to certain processing based on legitimate interests.
-Data portability: where applicable, the right to receive certain personal information in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
- Withdrawal of consent: where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that took place before consent was withdrawn.
Some rights are subject to legal exceptions. For example, I may need to retain certain transaction information where required by Dutch tax law.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. In the Netherlands, this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
